That is true...
You can jack up your car..
most of the time they put cones on the straightaway so you can't get to serious speeds if you have no racing license...

Waterford Hills, you may hit 60 mph...its pretty safe....

I'd be more worried about going into a turn too hot than top speed bothering me at all. Eats brakes pretty quick tho too, right?

Thats what I'm saying the big tursna re at the end of straits where the cones keep you from hitting a high speed...
Seriously they have it setup my friend took his Lumina out there...
It does tend to eat some of your pad life, but it wil be a blast.

Not trying to be a bad influence here just saying its alot of LEGAL fun with your car..I have an extra helmet too if you need one to borrow for the day

Yes it's fairly safe but I hit 90+MPH at the end of the back straight. I've gone about 10 times to Waterford. I recommend going with RSR PCA they are very safe.

don't be tempting me guys! LOL I've got a helmet. Lapeer requires 'em for everything so I've had one for years for drag racing. I was considering swapping the front pads out for Hawks to cut some dust. Maybe I should open track it first. The legal fun part is what's got me to the strip in past years. Nice to be able to flog the snot out of the car w/out any worries.

mberthia..... what is RST PCA? Something I can look up and check out?

RSR PCA is one of the two local Porsche clubs. They organize 3-4 track days at Waterford and one weekend at Gingerman every year. They are well organized and not snobs towards other makes unless maybe if it's a FWD...
The 2007 schedule is not out yet but the first event is usually mid May.

Waterford has open track days once in a while. They are probably not as safe from what I have seen but still an option that I may try this year. I would not recommend it for the first time on a road course.

I'd be more excited about the idea if I had bought a 6spd. Decided to get an automatic after 15+ yrs of sticks.

Ahhh.......but, so far by SOTP, it's not crushing my Cobra in the twisties. I have a feeling that pushed hard it would better it though. The Cobra was a good 300-400# heavier I think ('vert).

These automatics need a shift kit something awful. $800 is ridculous though.

It will kill you how much better it is.
It Beat the new Gt by 12 seconds a lap ina test they did
It only lost to the GT500 by .5 seconds a lap.
The thing FLIES around corners, which I love alot...

The auto's in these are tough, but they do need a shift kit...
Anything on the Z is Expensive as HECK...
