I just went through a full rebuild and can tell you that unless you have the dough for a new motor, know a machine shop that will do the work for you, or just flat out don't care if it runs, you better just take your car to a reputable shop and have them call you when it is done.
What are you planning for your car? have you priced out everything out? I won't even tell you what I have in my car but let's just say I could have bought a brand new loaded 07 nismo as a daily driver and still had money left over for mods.
im a pretty good machanic, im gunna say an expert but im good. my dad used to own Carl's tire And Auto services down in crystal, its been in the family for 50 years, he just sold it two years ago. i worked there since i was 14. ive also built a B18c5 from the ground up with some help, not much experiance with the VQ but im sure ill get her down.. when i say im gunna tear it down, i dont mean it literally by myself, im just gunna install the iso thermal 1/2'' plenum spacer, and the mrev2 manifold from motordyne (simple stuff), and have somebody give it a port and polish. im probibly gunna end up putting the nismo exhaust and other nismo goodies on it, plus a set of r1 racing rims and BFG KDW's for now. than save up for the APS TT kit or a pro-charger supercharger for the year after.

like Zivman said this is a complex motor, i myself have successfully torn my motor apart fixed and reassembled and it was no easy process in doing it. Be sure you have the complete service guide for the 350z it will help you out tremendously.. I bought the actuall service book for $310 but you can get it on a CD on ebay for cheap.. BUT if you're going to go TT save your money on the nismo exhaust cause you wont be able to use it or on the Single turbo setup.

If i end up doing FI (probibly two years from now) ill sell the exhaust and try and get some money out of it.

you have no clue what you are talking about in terms of exhaust on a TT Z. the TT setups for the Z all retain stock mounting of the cats and thus, retain use of stock exhaust. The turbo manifolds and such all are included with the kit. You could run any catback on the market with your TT Z... but you need one that flows properly

what ever dude. its not even worth my time.

you are a teenager and have had the car for a very short time. I have had the car over 3 yrs now, been down the road of N/A. Been down the road of a TT on stock block. Been down the road of a ST on stock block. Been down the road of TT on built block and now recently again with a rebuild of that block. I have installed turbo kits and assisted with motor assembly. The Z is not comparable to other cars you may have had or may have worked on. It is an entity with paramaters and limits all its own.
Edit: have you even seen a modified Z33 in person??? ever seen a boosted Z33?? meet up with Steve and the rest of us today and you can check out my car and get an idea of what is all involved.

BTW jake dont take zivmans words as critisizm (spelling, i'm F'in tired right now) he's just tryin to help you a little bit, but it's your decision and you dont have to listen if you dont want to but he'll always have an opinion. But like zivman said n/a sux... Go turbo forget S/C for the same price of a supercharger you could get the APS single turbo and run on stock internals.. I know Blake has a ST Z and drives it like he stole it and hasnt had any problems and he's doin over 400hp????? i believe... BTW how is blake doin heard he was on crutches??

We did see your car there, I stopped and chatted with a fellow from my home town right in front of your car and really didn't see anyone round that looked they were part of your club.
Anyways, Jake is a dreamer IMHO. He can say I am critisizing and have hard feelings about my comments, but that is on him. I know how it is to have a new toy and have all these future plans for it. You have good intentions on following through with those plans until you find out how much they cost, how much time and effort are involved, and the risk involved. Just go look through the member list on this site; how many have a SC/Turbo/Twin turbo setup as a future planned modification....... and then how many follow through with it. If he does follow through, more power to him, best of luck, and I would be willing to help out if issues arise. That said, a bunch of talk on a forum like this is doesn't put a tt setup on his car
