thanks aaron.. ya i just ordered the spec stage 3 + he said in the last year or so spec has gone a long way with it .. and its prob the best one he thought.. its the one he puts on all the mustangs that come out of db.. and for guages i got the aem ones.. boost. wideband. and fuel pressure... and the berk test pipes.... steves old exhaust is already on the car and thats all for now.. i gotta do wheels too but ill have to wait till all this other stuff is done so i can see what i have for money .. oh ya and one step colder plugs i got too.. anything else i need for now?
The 2+ would have been MORE than enough for your application. It held to 13 psi on my twin setup before slipping. Obviously you know when you are talking about singles, the higher you go, the less drivable they become. I would have some concern running a 3+ might be a bit much in traffic; or possibly anything but moderately or harder driving.
This is why I prefer the multidiscs. Don't get me wrong, the spec is a good clutch, but the multidiscs are in another league, but you pay for it.
ya and that was my concern with the 3+ too .. but he told me that the 3+ was actually easier than the 3 and was about the same as the 2+. his words were " about the same pedal effort as stock" so we'll see.... i do have some experience with driving the "grabby" clutches so ya i know it is a pain in the *** ..... but i got the clutch and flywheel combo for 1100 so i didn't think that was too bad.. at least ill have plenty of room to go up in power before i gotta get a new clutch.

The '+' series is definitely the way to go. Once you jump to a 2+ or higher, the pressure plate is fairly stiff. The pedal effort is about 1.5x that of the stock clutch -> I have driven 3 of these. The one complaint I would have with the spec setup is the pedal feel isn't linear. It has a lot of resistant up top and then gets light.... meaning you push fairly hard to depress the clutch, but once passed the intitial resistance, it moves pretty freely; making it somewhat hard to modulate. It takes a little getting used to.
Like I said before, I prefered the clutch paired with the stock flywheel. with a supercharger, you might be better off with the lightened flywheel to keep the revs up. That said, the revs fall much faster as well. I felt it was more of a challenge keeping the revs up between shifts.
cool ... thanks aaron... anything else i need to look into right away? im having db do the install and clutch install then they want me to do the 700 mile clutch break in period then i bring it back so they can pull it hard on the dyno and tune it...
DB knows what they are doing...

I have an odd question for anyone here. I'm flying out to Arizona to spend a week at my brothers this coming Thursday the 19th and was wondering if anyone would allow me to park my car and possibly catch a ride to and from the Airport so as to avoid the retarded cost of airport parking for a week and I have less to worry about something happening to my car while I'm gone. Thanks in advance. If you are interested in helping me I'll let you know my flight information to and from.
We can't park cars on the street overnight here, so that's not an option. There has to be a way we can help a Z brutha out!

Has anyone been to Kline nissan recently? I just got back to check out their 370Z's and holy crap is the cabin incredibly small, and it seems taller than the 350 and pictures make it look ALOT longer than what it actually is. They said I could come back once the weather gets better and tear it up in one of them
If only they would let me test drive the GTR!
I also got free passes for the auto show from Dameon, those guys are awesome.

Auto show!? I want!
Looks like that guy selling the JIC y pipe was a scammer after all. Did I call that one or what? Ben, good call on posting that ebay link.
There's a new vendor on here that's selling some cheap stuff.

I guess there's a good argument that a lot of the stuff out there comes from the same group of manufacturers except for the really high end stuff.

I had the 2+, which is sometimes referred to as the stage 3. This is the same clutch Tom has in his G35 and Blake has in his APS single Z. Spec puts out a decent clutch and I liked mine. I can tell you that this clutch feels better when used with a stock flywheel vs the lightened one you can buy from spec. It should hold around 500tq.
Steve runs an ACT clutch and seems to be happy with it. There are a lot of good clutches for this application. clutchmasters, ACT, spec, exedy, ATS (Carbonetics). I would recommend anyone of them... though my personal preference is an ATS multi-disc carbon
the only clutch I would not recommend is the JWT clutch.... engagement point is just too low

The ATS is a nice clutch but very spendy.. I've seen prices as high as $2300 for them, but they they're very light weight, has a 700ft/lbs of holding power, and from what i heard they have stock like engagement and pedal pressure, you can even get a carbon heat treated flywheel and pressure plate for it

They are more money, but worth it. I got a good deal on my twin disc with 1350kg pressure plate. About 650 bucks more than I paid for my spec setup.... worth it though. Should last 2-3 times as long, holds more power (my spec was slipping), and has better feel. It all depends on power level. If one is on a stock block and is in the mid to upper 300's, there are plenty of single disc clutches that will do the job just fine. Get to upper 400's and 500+, you need to spend a little more money.

I'll pay for them, just give me the extra special Z club discount.
