I would be looking at a 35% tint all around, or 35% on the rears and hatch and 40% upfront. I personally have 35% and wouldn't recommend going any darker, not as much as people seem to be getting harassed for tint now days.
He has samples of each level and will have good recommendations on what level to get
no I would probably just drop it off and pick it up after I get out from the dentist. But I'm not 100% sure yet I need to give him a call tomorrow and talk to him about maybe working somethin out

I guess I was the only one getting it done today. I ended up going 40% on the rear 3 and 50 on the side. Looks better than stock and isn't so dark that it would attract attention. I'm curious to how it will look at night.
Yep got a hold of him yesturday and he's going to do it on Sat. for me, I had the dentist I had to go to in Mankato, yes Mankato, long story, anyways so I'm getting mine done on Sat.
He talked me out of doing it, stating he wouldn't go as dark as I wanted too, other places will...but he basically saved me the money and overall kind of wasted eachother's time. My tint is still pretty flawless from Cali, I just wanted it DARK...I will wait a few years when it actually needs to be redone.

I heard you wanted it so dark that you couldn't see out. WTF man. lol That's crazy
I like seeing out of my Z and enjoying the view. That's why I got what I did. He did a great job and let me take off the panels so he could get the bottom tint underneath the felt.

^^True, I disagree that it's a reason to get pulled over though...I have never been pulled over or cited for it...generally the Z gets enough attention already...usually pulled over for speeding, windows not an issue

Biggest reasoning behind the tint laws is officer safety, then driver safety. The pucker factor comes into play if a cop walks up to a car and he can't see inside. Think about being in his shoes for a minute.
I agree that it's better to be conservative with the tint. I've also had limo tint before, and while it was nice to keep out the sun and stay cool, I hated the fact that my vision was diminished.

My rule of thumb is that if the cop can see in, you will be fine.
I have had tinted cars for years and never had an issue. Had a friend of mine put 40% on the fronts on his otherwise stock escalade his wife drives and she has been pulled over 5 times for the tint. He is getting it taken off now. Everyone is different, but with the economy and all, cities are looking for any way they can to bring in a buck. Tint tickets are easy money.

I got so pissed off at the city of WBL or whatever that is just south of 694. They were laying down tar and $hit during rush hour traffic. Idiots. There's black stuff all over my wheels. I need a high power spray to get it off (I hope).
ive been pulled over at least 10 times for my tint.... i have 20 all around which is what it came with and is too dark i think. dave im interested to see what you have because thats what i might want to go with.
When I was over there getting my Z done there were two cars there at his shop he just got done with. One was a all black Corolla and another was a white pontiac G8. Both had the same % tint but the white one looked alot darker than the black one

The tint guy explained that on white cars, the tint looks darker because of the contrast in color. Doesn't make it darker inside, just looks like it from the outside when you're standing back and looking.
I'll take pics later today. Gonna go to a parking lot where there's no cars and take different angles.
