The Detroit area is soon to have a CS Greddy Twin Turbo Z lurking the streets (specifically Sterling Heights). Just purchased today at a local shop and plan on having it installed next week.
Got a great deal too. Can't wait. By the way, I no longer need the Injen CAI for the Z. It's about 6 months old. Anyone interested? Make an offer.

I'm interested. $150 and I'll come pick it up? Email me and let me know your thoughts.

Yancy,
Congrats, I have been following your posts in the FI section of the forum.
Is Dan(screen name Guru) the chief mechanic in charge of Turbo installation? Is your Z the first Nissan Z they worked on? I think the shop is mostly experienced with Subaru and Mitsu.
Is your Z in the shop right now?(I think you mentioned that Tuesday(1/6) is the drop off date).
Have you performed Dyno prior to the installation?
Will they perform any prelimary test on your engine prior to the install?
When it comes to tuning, will the original Emanage be blank out to create new mapping specific for your Z?
Please keep us posted on how the installation went, pics to share if possible.
Thanks,
Mickey

Thanks Mickey,
Q = Is Dan(screen name Guru) the chief mechanic in charge of Turbo installation?
A = I believe Dan is the owner of the shop and master tuner with much experience with the emanage system. I bought the kit off of Dan as well (very knowledgeable guy).
Q = Is your Z the first Nissan Z they worked on? I think the shop is mostly experienced with Subaru and Mitsu.
A = My Z is the first that they will install the Greddy kit on, but have been told that they have done plenty of other mods to other Z's. They do do a lot of work on Subaru and Mitsu as well as others though. By the way, they are one of only two authorized dealers for Greddy in Michigan. Check www.Greddy.com I trust them.
Q = Is your Z in the shop right now?(I think you mentioned that Tuesday(1/6) is the drop off date).
A = My Z is in the shop as I write this on Friday 1/9/04. I dropped it off on Tuesday 1/6/04 to get the Greddy kit installed with BOV, e-01 boost controller, cusco sway bars and eibech springs. I'm not in a hurry to get it back because of all the salt sprinkled all over these roads. Plus, it's just going to my garage until the weather is nicer.
Q = Have you performed Dyno prior to the installation?
A = As far as I know, no.
Q = Will they perform any prelimary test on your engine prior to the install?
A = I don't not know. I'd assume they will do what is necessary for a safe install.
Q = When it comes to tuning, will the original Emanage be blank out to create new mapping specific for your Z?
A = Most likely. I know that they plan to install and run dyno at the preset map of 5.6 psi to determine power etc. Dan and I have discussed creating a new map. I plan on having a new map done with better tuning by Dan and slightly higher boost (I defer to the expert tuners on what psi is safe with stock internals and the Greddy set up). I'd like to think that 6 - 6.5 psi boost is ok though. Boost will increase at a later date after I have the necessary work done to the engine and drivetrain.

Yancy,
Appreciate you sharing the info! Sorry about my Q&A session, I just got excited when fellow Michigander got this highly anticipated turbo kit, and being worked on by shop located locally.
I think you will be the first in MI with Greddy TT on 350Z. I bet you just can't wait for Winter and Snow to be over eh?
Look forward to your Turbo Z.
Rgd,
Mickey

Yancy was a good sport, thanks for the answers.
I will contact godspeed(installer/tuner) for more detail. One thing I learn from the forum is that FI tuning is very important; Seems like most tuner are tuning it on the Dyno machine, but as we all know, Dyno does not truly represent real street driving. I will have to check with godspeed to see if they will finalize the tuning with street driving along with wideband O2 sensor.
I am keeping an eye on the FI forum, where Yancy will be posting dyno results....but unlike the Crawford dyno, the GReddy will not worth $20.
Has anyone locally visited godspeed? And what did you think about them?
Rgd,
Mickey

Install should be finished early this week and dyno's posted shortly thereafter. Plan on tuning it to 350-360 rwhp. Curious to see how much power will be created at the preset 5.6 psi though. 400+ rwhp will come after some internal engine mods are done along with bigger fuel injectors etc.
