Can anyone suggest a good VQ motor tuner in the twin cities area? I would like a shop that has lots of VQ motor experience and also experience first hand from any of you guys that have dealt with the shops.

boosted? turbo (powerlab setup)? what ems are they tuning?

DB performance and RS motors are the places I would take my car... I wouldn't say either one has "lots" of VQ experience. the number of boosted cars in this area is very small.

DB Performance has more VQ experience than you think Zivman, the VQ is getting pretty popular to modify now being that the price is getting really cheap on these cars now and more and more people are starting to modify them now

 

they have 'some' experience, I doubt it is what I consider 'a lot'.

yes the cars are cheap, and yes they are being modified. that said, they aren't putting 5-10k dollar turbo kits on like they were back in the day.

DB is a fine shop, but relatively speaking, I think it is safe to say their tuning of VQ is very limited compared to other shops we have come to know through this forum. Shane is a great tuner and I have used him over the years, but for a guy that requests specifically "lots of VQ motor experience" I would have to say you might be better served traveling to an area with a bigger market.
