I went to college in DE and loved those plates, I think they were just first come first serve, but now if you want one you have to wait for it to come up for sale and they are usually kind of pricey, (but worth it) especially for lower numbers.

4 digit tags are any were to 1000 to 25,000 to buy
and the rest of the 5 digit tags can go any where from 1000 to 300 bucks
Most of these good tags are passed down. That the beauty of the system....the lower the number you realize the order of how that family got to delaware. Kinda interestin if you think about it.
my tag is 54470, that means that my car is technically the 54470 registered car in the state.
The best is...is that you sometimes see...a car driving down the road...with a license plate that is worth more than 10 times the cars value...
a 2 digit tag like 10 actually was bought at an auction for 175,000 dollars...
to date...that plate is on a late model benz worth about 25,000. Ironic isn't.
peace and happy new year.
Mike
I recently transplanted from Dover to Newark. I have an '04 Daytona Blue Z, but it's currently in ICU at East Coast Auto Body in Dover. Nismo21z, I believe that I've seen you around. Isn't there also a green 3000 GT?
