Ok.. only a few more weeks left till the meet! So is this going to be it or is anyone else planning on staying at AC? We need to start booking soon to make sure that we can get some rooms. Also, are people looking to have their own rooms? or are you willing to share with someone?

Exclamation B.Y.O.B.?

Is it bring your own babe? If so then I may have a QTPIE tagging along with me, so I am going to need my own room.

If not, then I can crash with somebody. I really hope its not a sausage fest down there, I don't want to do any sword fighting with other Z-men.

I thought you're all gunna laugh at me when I posted that you can get killed in A/C.

B.Y.O.B? I guess it's up to you. I might be bringing someone along with me too, but I don't mind getting a 4 person room and splitting it. I don't think we'd be spending much time inside the rooms anyway.

*Flashback one year ago, in February*

I decided to bring my girlfriend (at the time) up to Atlantic City for her 21st birthday. She was at school, I just recently graduated. I got a really good deal for a suite at the Atlantic Palace. Unbelievably, out of the 50 or so channels on the TV, around 10 of them were playing hardcore ****!
That was pretty cool. Anyways, little did I know the Atlantic Palace Resort was a good 1/2 mile from any of the casinos. We had three options (btw, it was around 20 degrees outside).
1) Walk all the way around the UNLIT boardwalk (was like a ghost town) to the casino, 2) wait another hour for the "shuttle" to arrive to pick us up, or 3) cut straight across the scary, ghetto, run-down old neighborhood and walk to the casino in a straight line. It was already almost midnight so we didn't want to wait, and the wind on the boardwalk would probably make us die of hypothermia, so we chose option #3.
BAD MOVE!

The walk across the dark ghetto seemed like forever. It was cold. It was windy. Our noses were red, our ears were frozen. We made it about halfway to Trump Plaza and i noticed this black guy driving this run-down corolla RRRREEEEAALLL slow towards us on the street. (We were on the sidewalk). I saw nobody on the streets that could be witnesses to our potential murder, so I tried so hard to look calm and confident as he drove by. My gfriend was crying and holding my arm right now ... I glanced at the guy and saw him STARING at the both of us while driving, and to top it off he was drinking a bottle of beer! I'm thinking OMG OMG OMG we're gonna die we're gonna die. The guy drove past us as we started walking faster and faster ... he STOPPED his car, and then managed to turn around and drove passed us again on the other side of the road while staring out his window. We cut across the backyard of some shack and RAN. The dude stopped his car in the middle of the road and waited ... I thought he was getting his gun out to kill us ... he was still waiting there ... My gfriend and i managed to get trapped by this stupid fence that was there because of construction ... the fence was at least 10 feet high with those spikey things on top. NO WAY! We were forced to walk back towards the street were that guy was stopped in his car. Uh oh. Of course I had around $300 bucks on me in cash at the time, at least if i lost that it would be better than losing my life. I clenched my teeth and my fists and thought about how Ryu in Street Fighter II would fight in this situation. As we got closer to the car, Mr. Atlantic City Killer just drove off. A police car flew by us probably going to some other murder. Yay cops! It probably scared him, and it wasn't his day of the week to commit a murder anyways. We were saved! Well, that's my story. Hope you all enjoyed it. And by the way, the moral of the story is don't go to AC without some kind of automatic weapon.

hehe.. sometimes I think you read a wee little too much into things. Not much time in the room because because most of the fun will be in the car Unless, maybe you should show me the right way to not be boring...

Actually by that statement I meant that we'd all be in AC and Cape May, doing everything we have to do for the meet, then drinks at night, maybe some gambling back at AC, etc... I don't plan on doing much sleeping that's for sure!

Default Hotels

Hey Everyone,

Well the meet is coming up soon, and we need to start booking hotels. It's really hard to do this when we all can't talk and give our opinions on what we'd like. I'm suggesting actually using the chat room on a certain night when we can all get together and talk about this. I've searched several hotels on the boardwalk and got some prices ranging from $149 - $299 a night. However the cheaper rooms may not have indoor hotel parking. If people don't mind sharing rooms, I would suggest getting rooms of 4. If people want to stay Friday, a room for 4 at Tropicana would be $209. Divide that by 4 and it's about %50 per person. A Saturday night's stay is $299. There's also the Holiday Inn and Howard Johnson which are cheaper and on the boardwalk, but I don't know about indoor parking. It's all up to you guys. Please give a date and time when you'd be available to talk about this on the thread or PM me.

Thanks,
Mike

I'll be staying at Taj Mahal for free (haha) Like I posted before, my friend is the DJ at Casbah and gets a free double room every sat night.... Their may be room for 1 or 2 if someone hooks me up with a nice girl ... I'm a 6'1" tall dark and handsome single guy,(with a nice Z) who is soon to be 26(4/21)..... ..lol
I can't really get anymore rooms but I can probably get comps to the club if anyone wants... The last couple of times I've been their I didn't get back to the room untill 6am.... So I'm not sure what activities I'll be around for on sunday....

I just booked at the Flagship All-Suite Hotel on the boardwalk for $189.95 ... seems like a pretty good deal. They have indoor garage parking yay! That is definitely key. I'm staying with a "friend" btw.

Yes, indoor parking is a must! I think most places on the boardwalk have indoor parking ... just don't give those keys to a valet.

If anyone is still looking for a room and wants to stay on the Boardwalk, I just made reservations at the Tropicana . It ended up being $479 (total including taxes) through Hotels.com for Friday ($149.95 + $22.05 taxes) and Saturday ($269.95 + $37.05 taxes). After booking it, I called the Tropicana to check on parking (they do have indoor parking @ $2 for the entire stay) and found I saved a whole $1 going through Hotels.com! I know it's not the Taj, but it got pretty good reviews at Epinions and Atlantic City Hotels.com. In addition it appears that most of the other hotels are already booked for this weekend (must be for the Z meet ) so if you wait to the last minute, like myself, you might want to do it sooner rather than later.

If you don't need to stay at a casino, the Flagship All Suite Resort mentioned by ZspikeZ seems to be a pretty good place (I believe all of the rooms have "kitchens") and priced a little more reasonably than the casinos. Here's a map (Flagship is "upper right" and Tropicana is "lower left" on the map):
