Delaware Z Meet: Elk Neck State Park: July 30
Due to editing issues, I'm starting this thread fresh now that we've got the the details ironed out. The previous thread will be locked, so that we don't have 2 running for the same meet.
Date: Sunday, July 30, 2006 (That's next Sunday)
Time: 2:00 PM
Place:
Rendevous: Superfresh Super Market on 896/301 South
Destination: Elk Neck State Park, Maryland
Directions from I-95 Southbound to Superfresh: South on I-95 out of Wilmington, 2-3 miles past the Delaware Service Plaza, look for exit 1B-A for "896 to 301; Newark/Middletown", take the second off ramp, which is exit 1A going South on 896/301 to Middletown. Go 1 mile. On the right you will see the shopping center with the Superfresh Superstore. *Note: if you miss this exit, you'll wind up in the toll booths
We'll meet in front of the grocery store and hang out for about 30-45 minutes, or until everyone who we expect to be there has arrived, which ever comes first. From there we'll take a liesurely cruise down to the park.
If we get enough interest in the next couple days and decide we'd like to do some sort of eats, I'll call the park and try to reserve a pavillion from say 3-5pm.
If you plan on attending, please sign up here. If you like the idea of getting a pavillion and doing some eats, let me know.
Ryan

Thanks for replying ht4. We hope to see you.
I've spoken with mifastZ, and we're both resolute that even though this hasn't attracted too much interest so far, we are carrying through with plans as is. So if anyone decides at the last minute they would like to join us, please do. We'll still be meeting at the SuperFresh at 2pm and waiting for about a half an hour before heading out to the park.
Thanks,
Ryan

I'm not leaving till Monday, so I might make it. Also Sound of Tri State is having their annual car show down in dover from 10 till 4 on sunday. It's in the center of dover near legislative hall. It's usually good times if the weather holds up.

Just got home...I had a freakin Blast. Too bad it was so freakin hot outside. I kinda wanted to hang out a lil more. But I had a good time anyway. Hopefully we can get something going up here in PA. Later Guys. Going to post all the pics on photobucket.
Here's a few of the pics I got. I've got some really good ones with each of us with our cars, but an unsure how you guys feel about having you faces posted, so let me know if you want copies and I'll PM them to you or something.
We got in several good miles of curvy roads to ourselves, then passed a Bridge Closed sign and came across the road block. As we talked, trying to figure out where to go, we could hear the distant tuning of banjos. Then a couple trucks pulled up. I was sure they were going to invite us to a BBQ, in which we'd be the main course, but to my relief they only set us in the right direction.
Once back on track, we made our way to the main highway and down to the park. I made a pass on a Chrystler 300, all good. As Jason, who was in line behind me began to make his pass, the 300 pulls out to make a pass of his own, sending Jay into the far emergency lane. I thought he was done for. Nice save Jay. Then to top it off the 300 tries to hang with us, and about rearends him as traffic ahead slows down. We weren't even going too fast, I guess the guy was just trying to get a good look.
We finally get to the park and take the opportunity to snap some pics and cool off in the shade, as mifastZ mentioned, it was HOT. I'm from FL, and it was still hot to me, so that's pretty well certified as hot.
All in all, it was a good ride, and we all enjoyed seeing and talking about one another's Zs.
