I'm in DC
There's quite a few bars in the Chinatown Area ... District Chop House and Brewery to name one. Spy Museum is in the area as well. Basically get a cab to the Verizon Center (where the Wizards play) and everything mentioned is within walking distance (few blocks).

You should try Mango Mikes on Thursday. Mangos is in alexandria though. Not far from DC. Also try Bungaloos also on thursday. I think that's how you spell it. Enjoy your stay. Dont wander to far though.
Just got back from DC this past weekend. Depending on what kind of crowd you are looking for the strip of bars in a place called Adams Morgan could be a nice place to go. There are several bars packed with college and graduate student age girls. Not sure if this is the age range you were hoping for but it was perfect for me and my buddies.

As for Bars I'd recommend Clydes (of Gallery Place is located in the heart of Chinatown), Third Addition (In Georgetown), or RFD Washington (In Chinatown ... has over 300 different beers to choose from)
everything usually closes no later then 2 am ...
