FYI-
Newark police are asking the public’s help in locating a silver Nissan 350Z, with Maryland tags, seen in the vicinity of a fatal crash that killed an elderly Newark woman.
Newark police spokesman Lt. Thomas LeMin said investigators received information that the car was seen speeding away from the Newark Car Wash on Elkton Road, heading toward Casho Mill Road, prior to the 9:15 a.m. crash Saturday.
Authorities believe street racing may have been the cause of the collision.
“As you are going into Newark there is a slight hill so you can’t see cars that well,” LeMin said. “So if motorists are going above the speed limit, it dramatically reduces the margin of safety.”
After the crash, the Nissan continued driving on Elkton Road headed toward Maryland. LeMin said the first three letters on the Maryland registration were “TVW.”
The motorist who died, Chinsu Park Un, 78, of Radcliffe Drive, was attempting to turn left onto Casho Mill Road from Elkton Road when her 1984 Mercedes was hit by a speeding blue 2004 Saturn Ion, driven by Christopher Monaco, 20, of the Brookside development near Newark.
The impact of the collision was so violent that it ripped Un’s Mercedes in half.
The woman was treated at the scene for multiple injuries and taken to Christiana Hospital where she died.
Monaco was treated at Christiana Hospital for minor injuries and released.
No charges have been filed pending the outcome of the investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or can provide information regarding the silver Nissan is asked to call Cpl. David Kerr of the traffic division, at 366-7110, ext. 107.

Tony, I did the same thing... and was the first repost. I just posted a new link in the original thread, it doesn't look like it was racing after all.
