Default Phila Area Meets...(advice)

Hey guys and gals,

As alot of you are aware Fred Beans had a Meet in July of 06 and we are excited to hold another meet...for 07!!!

I wanted to get some insight from everyone about a few things...

When is a good time...(spring)???
What can we do to make it better then last time

(for those of you who didn't attend) What do you like to see at a meets?

Some brainstorming ideas i have had...(tell me if they suck)

Instead of run of the mill trophies...
I will order 350Z replicas (model cars) and embroider them...or embroider a faceplate (don't want to mess up the cars)!!!

Is a dunktank a dumb idea...w/ Honda and Toyota heckelers???
(or is that to carnival like)

Instead of just 350z people there...have it like a car show open to the public...(in order for this to work we would have to be able to talk about our cars) I am SURE we can Handle that LOL...

Obviously raffle prizes...T shirts etc... etc...
Burgers and dogs was ok...but there was concern about the grease in the air...
Give me some ideas there...

Lets start talking Meets!!!!!

Go BIRDS...E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES

I think a meet in mid to late March would be cool. Burgers and dogs last time was awesome...definitely need to do that again. Be careful opening it to all cars...might be a lot of ricers showing up. I like the car replica idea, not too hot on the dunk tank. A cool idea might be to do some modifications right there, like maybe a coilover install or an exhaust swap? Contingent upon someone having this stuff to install of course. That would draw a lot of attention I think.

OP - Hadn't Fred Beans just aquired Nissan from thompson in July? You guys wasted no time having a meet i guess! I got my z from thompson in august after the swap.. Ed (Johnson) told me it was one of the ones you guys didn't want I guess, but I liked it! Anyway, I'm down for a meet, put me on the list.

What's your name by the way?

Hmm yeah that's a good point. I guess I figured at this rate we won't be getting any snow Although I will be running my Z all year round, I imagine most people will be bringing them out again in early to mid April. I figure a lot of these people have nice aftermarket wheels that they don't want road cinders flying up at. So maybe I'll revise my recommendation to mid-April...?

Dominic, has your organization developed a policy yet on how to handle modded cars when there is a warranty issue?
ie..oil consumption problems in 06's

Theatrix

Depending on the Modification...(this could take awhile)...

Ex. Say your modifications are done elsewhere ( not the engine)
as long as you have reciepts showing that you have serviced the vehicle ie. oil changes...then you would be able to do an oil consuption test...
Currently there are no campaigns on an 06 350Z...

Now if you have modifications on the engine. You need to see of those modifications are warrantied or if the modifications performed voided manufacturers warranties.

If you went through Nismo all you would need to do is contact a parts supplier to see if the nismo part is warrantied or not.
As i am sure you know certain Nismo parts are covered under warranty...others are not

Hey Dominic...

We had an awesome time at your event last year. I hope Fred Beans decides to do another in 2007. Just let us know the particulars and we will spread the word.

Default Looking like May

I would like to have a meet in early May...

This time around I was thinking of having a meet w/ the public...

So the people involved w/ the meet (those in z's and g's) would actually be exhibitors...talking w/ people about their cars...

Actually the other Nissan dealer in the area (Williams in Gilbertsville) lost the Nissan franchise. I suspect that poor sales and even worse customer service led to them losing the Nissan brand for their dealership. Fred Beans opened up a brand new dealership and they need to establish a customer base in the area. They are doing pretty well so far. I already had my Z when they opened up but I did buy my 06 X-terra there. I attended last years meet there and it was ok, but it seemed to fizzle after the first hour.
Get some people to stick around longer:
  1. Reach out to some local vendors of aftermarket parts and sounds (Access Audio in Royersford, Mag Shop in Pottstown) and work with them for some potential give aways, give people a reason to stay longer than 45 minutes
  2. Raffle some Nismo parts
  3. Some sounds would help

Ichogo,

thanks for the feedback...the primary reason for me starting this thread so early is to get good feedback on what people want...Tunes NO PROB...I spoke w/ someone last year from Access Audio...conversation kinda fizzeled though, i think it was a member on my350z.com whom work at access audio...

Keep the Ideas coming...thanks everyone

Yeah definitely some tunes and of course burgers/dogs like last year. I also like the idea of getting some of the local aftermarket involved...I think that's a win/win for everyone. See if they would be willing to raffle off some free merch or service, that's also a great idea Ichigo.

I know personally I had a stereo system installed in my Z and they did a horrible job (I won't mention any names.....ok fukc it, it was Tweeter) and I'd like to have another professional take a look at it and see what my options are for re-doing it, or fixing it, etc. Maybe if you had the local car audio place and they could put together some good ideas for a decent sound setup for the Z, regarding recommended speaker brands, positions, sub enclosures, etc.

Also I think there was a ECZA meet last year in Delaware and they had a dent removal guy there who would fix dents for a decent fee. That wouldn't be a bad idea.

Giving away Nismo swag is always a good idea too.
