Snow tires, snow tires, snow tires.

If you take the car out in cold, wet conditions with summer tires, you're asking for trouble. Throw a set of snow tires on there and you can drive in everything but heavy accumulation, which we rarely get in NJ anyway.

If you're not going to deal with snow tires and swapping wheels, then get a cheap second car and make it your primary vehicle. You could save a decent amount of $$$ on your insurance that way, enough to offset the cost of the car if you got something cheap enough.

It's as simple as that.

Tires make a HUGE DIFFERENCE. I went with the Potenza's 960's, which are High Performance All-Seasons. In cold, wet or light snow they do fine. Heavy accumulation I take the FWD second car.

I had the stockers for a while, and in a gust of wind with snow on the ground, my car would slide lol. But I switched to Kuhmo ASX (cheap *** all seasons!) and i can drive in snow that about 2'' thick which is the worst it usually gets. If theres ice or more than 2'' on LOCAL street I wont drive the Z. If theres any snow on highways I dont drive the Z at all. Ive never fishtailed the Z unelss I wanted to, and Ive had it for a year and ahalf. And im a young drive (19). If you follow the simples rules of snow driving you'll be fine.

Dont give gas on turns. Take turns less than 10mph in rain, 8 or 7 mph in snow. Dont accelerate too hard and NEVER hit the brakes during a turn or if you're fishtailing.

I live in sussex, they usually plow pretty good up here. But I would not suggest the Z in the snow. Unless you like driving sideways the whole time.

I have had my Z for the last 2 winters here in PA and there has only been a few days that I could not drive. I wouldn't even worry about it man its actually kind of fun in the snow.
