Default Powerlabs ST kit dealer/install?

It looks like there is another great FI option out there now for the Z.

Is anyone (MRC maybe) going to carry or install one of these? It looks like it has decent, reliable power potential AND includes a UTEC with it all for 7g's! I wonder if there will be significant turbo lag coming from this kit because of the ST.

Is anyone considering this kit? I figure with mild building (pistons, rods, ARP studs and turbo cam, other small things) you could easily make 450-500 whpr successfully and somewhat safely.

Thoughts?

Im not sure but I believe that PowerLab is a part of intense motorsports and you’ll only be able to get this kit and other PowerLab products through them. All in All it’s the most complete single turbo kit out there, the only thing you might need for 400+HP is a fuel return system .Looks Good, but for my money I would just as well go for a twin turbo setup, Greddy is cheaper but you don’t get the advantages of the UTEC.

I've become too antsy about going turbo and originally planned to do it next spring, I may be doing it much much sooner as long as i can afford it...possibly one of the first for MRC. I wonder how easy it would be to build the motor after the turbo is on...I don't want high numbers right away, and I don't think i will be able to afford building if I do a turbo this spring. I also don't want an unusable paperweight sitting in my garage if i push it too hard!

Decisions, decisions. I am going to let Darren know my interest in the kit and my interest in seeing MRC become a dealer/installer for them to kick this off.

Sounds like a plan! Darren should be able to get you squared away, and I think I saw Julian post somewhere that he was interested in becoming a dealer for powerlab, possibly even putting one on there shop car.

Yes! I saw that post just recently, i am glad they are getting on the PL bandwagon, it legitimizes the kit even more IMO. I am hoping I might be the guinee pig for them and their new adventure, the only thing is going to be the total cost. I think all this kit really needs extra is spark plugs! VISA is going to looovvveee me.

Oh yea....forgot about those! I will wait to install those until I finally put in the turbos. I want the digital A/F meter too. I see the kit isn't designed with a cat, but you could weld one in. I wonder if my Nismo exhaust would push the air i need it to since you need a reverse Y pipe to go true dual. Maybe i should just go single exit. I can't wait!

Hey,

Thanks for your thread and your PM today. One of the owners spoke to Julian a little while ago, so you may want to give him a shout tomorrow. I wasn't in on the conversation, but have a hunch..

Darren

We did discuss the Powerlab Kit yesterday with one of the owners of Powerlab, and the final outcome is that MRC Motorsports is officially the first East Coast shop that is an authorized Power Lab Dealer/Installer.

At MRC we have been consistantly turning out the highest HP 350Z/G35's in the North East , that have been proven reliable on the street and track time and time again.

When we saw the potential of a real High Quality single turbo kit, that comes with everything from a complete fuel system, to engine management, that combines performance with style and reliability, we jumped at the chance. The Power Lab kits utilize high quality, top of the line dual ball bearing Garrett turbos, simply the best in the industry by design.

We jumped at the chance to become Powerlab Dealers and are looking foward to carrying the Power Lab line for our customers!!!

Hellos,

Yes, this is good news indeed -- for the Z33 community at large.

Met with Julian and now all I need to do is hammer out finances. I never realized how much the economy sucked until you try and get a 0% APR card or a personal loan....

I'm excited to see what this kit can do!
