I just got a tint ticket, do I really have to take my tint off?
The guy wrote up a ticket for $25, he said he would dismiss the ticket if I took the tint off when they checked it. But I rather pay the $25 and take my chances.
Anyone have any experiences getting pulled over for tint?
Of course when I got pulled over someone in a blue impala drove by with limo tint on the windows. lol he didnt get ticketed!!

im pretty sure it's a fix it ticket...meaning pay or take it off and take your chances...my friend had this happen and he just paid it and kept the tint because it'd cost more to take it off and put it back on...

Any after market film is illegal in PA. It doesn't matter what percentage it is. Even a clear film is technically illegal.
Some cops don't mind, others do. Unfortunately, you were stopped by a cop who likes to write tickets for it.
I guess it depends on whether or not you want to run the risk of paying a fine every time you're pulled over for it. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Probably costs $50 to have it removed / cleaned off professionally. If I were you I would pay the $25 and take my chances. If it happens again, maybe reconsider. Look at it this way, if you get pulled over again and get another $25 ticket the cops should be ecstatic, because otherwise that's $25 less that gets contributed to the funding for the Police Officer's Ball.
I really don't understand how people get pulled over for tint, Ive been driving next to cops, windows completely up, and nothing at all...
...watch, I'm going to drive home now and get pulled over

just pay it.
its cheaper in the long run to pay the ticket 3-5 times over than to have it removed.
and thats all he gave you a ticket for? What did he pull you over for? Sounds like a pansy move.

he pulled me over because he couldnt see through the tint. Unfortunately it was an overcast that day. When he saw me he was very nice and asked if it was my car. I guess he was surprised it was a female.

I guess west chester is different...(if thats where you got pulled over), in philly you really can't get pulled over for tint alone...unless its just plain black paint if you know what I mean.

the cops in/around the city usually have better things to worry about...like murders
