Just because it isn't CARB legal doesnt mean it wouldnt pass our NY inspection. CARB is just cali strict *** ****. NY is a bit more lenient with emissions.

The bigger issue i think is the Cat's. They HIGHLY restrict flow - thus causing lost power. Vinny Had a great idea - he put on these easy release test pipes. 3 bolts and they come off - put the cat's back on replace the 02 sensor drive around for a day or so - then get your inspection done. After passed - go back to test pipes.

The only problem I have had is my car is white - and without the cats the back of my car gets so dirty from the exhaust - - guh.

I wouldn't worry about CARB like Kevin said - all that matters is you pass your inspection yearly, this has gotten slightly more complicated because garages need to hook your car to the computer to check out.

just my 2 cents.

thats what i am talking about, i am worried something will come up when i am hooked up to the computer for my yearly inspection, (thats the only inspection i get) isn't it like that with everyone. i do not have test pipes or want test pipes, waaayyy tooo raspy for me, i am going with high flow cats which is fine for inspection. i am just worried about passing inspection with the procharger cause its not carb legal, but i think i will be ok.

Call the company, other than that, don't know man. I have an APS twin turbo and high flow cats but I havent attempted an emissions test yet. Figure I'll just "buy" one...

You used to be able to "buy" them in NY - not anymore.
All you need to be concerned with is passing the emissions - which i don't think would be much of a problem - assuming you kept your cats.

Here is a helpful link that shows what all NYS inspections include.

http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/broch/c-50.htm

Things to note - there are no visual inspections like cali (besides checking for a cat, and proper sensors), basically they are making sure your car is safe - and checking your emissions via ODBII.

Might want to post a question in the FI forum to see if anyone has any experience specifically with superchargers - my guess is you are fine.

AND IF you fail - you have to opportunity to fix whatever is wrong. So long as they deem your car safe to drive.

the only question i have is if the computer will pick anything up from the kit. and what exactly carb legal is. if it were in the past before the stupid computer diagnosis it would not be a problems at all, but i still think it will be fine as long as its tuned correctly. if anyone doesn;t know the kit is not carb legal in ny state, but i really don't know why or what that really means and why it is not carb legal, i guess it is pending for ny state procharger said

California Air Review Board if I recall. if it's pending then with your stock cats and exhaust it should be ok. If it's running a little lean, that could help lol. but don't **** with it. i was kidding.
