Default Help w/ shift **** removal

I've tried so hard to get this damn oem **** removed, but it won't budge!

Anyone here have a good clamp of some sort that I can use locally (Or perhaps help me remove it for those that already did it)
I don't want to go spend more money on tools

Thanks in advance!

I'm going to ask a dumb question. Are you trying to turn it off? If you are and it isn't coming, pop the shift boot up and get a good grip on the shifter with a pipe wrench or monkey grips. Put a towel or if you've got one of those rubber jar openers (it's about a 5" circle of rubber) or something like it so you don't chew up the shifter. Get a good grip and turn the **** to the left. If you've already tried something like that, get a hacksaw! (kidding)

If you don't care about damaging it, just use locking vice grips It's held on with loc-tite and is a serious PITA to remove.

I've tried to remove it by holding the shifter and the shift **** and turning counter clockwise (Like it says on that DIY thread) but it seriously isn't coming off....and i'm afraid if i use all my strength i'm going to break it :-p

Grab a wrench and hold the top. Grab another wrench and hold underneath. Turn the top one CC while you hold the one underneath.
