SPEND MORE!!!

Just kidding, holy crap you guys nabbed Teixeira as well. Top 4 paid players in baseball, hopefully we'll see a Mets vs. Yanks WS like in 2000 if we don't blow chunks in Sept. for a 3rd straight year.

Wish I was in back in NYC to see opening day in both parks.

GO METS!!

Trodis. I can't fight wit u here cuz u got powa lol. But u know what I wanna say. All I will say is. WE GOT THE MONEY. Why not spend it?? What would you like the yankees to do wit it?? And for the mets.. Only reason you guys shouuuuld make the playoffs is cuz the nl is uncompetitive I feel. Except the Cubs. I like the Cubs to come outta the NL. But the Mets did take care of some needs.. BUT GO YANKEES!!!! LoL

Well, since they've been doing it for so long, just because they have the money, they fail. Why don't they do something SMART with it instead of just spending it for the "best" players. How bout one's that work well together. It's really really sad when the team with a small fraction of the Yankees' buying power wins more games than them. Money isn't everything. Smarts are much more important.

I'd rather be a Poor Genius than a Rich Idiot.

Yea. But they also lost a player or 2. And I forgot who. But one of them is out for half the year. So I dunno how good there gonna be to repeat..

Also. Umm... Well.. One points yes. Get players that play well together. But no team in the Yankees situation is going to suck for 10 years and develope like the Rays did either.. Fck it. Football playoffs are starting. I don't care bout baseball anyways till april..

really? so your saying you wanna be aware and depressed in poverty just to be a "genious"..... sounds like jealousy not reason. i would rather be a happy wealthy idiot. cause at the end of the day, you may be dumb but you can be happy being dumb. look at our society lol. the pissed off ones are the ones who dont have a pot to **** in and has to watch their idiotic neighbors pulling into their driveway in some bimmer or benz while your stuck in a mid 90's camry lol...

now on topic, if i owned a sports team and had money up the wazoo, ill buy every best player in the league to give me a greater chance of winning a championship cause that just equals more money... more fame, and more fans. so long as the team is based on good values and not full of d!cks... face it, no one wants to root for a sucky team unless they werent always sucky and they were born into a diehard fan family...

true?

What? I guess that we have different opinions on what's important in life. Which is a completely different conversation.

not really, im being logical on the wealth statement.

the whole reason we work and set goals in life is to survive and be sucessful. what was said was one would rather be a genious and poor then dumb and rich... no matter how smart you are or how dumb you are, the main thing (aside from love and family) thats gonna make you lead a succesful life is money flow. some ppl just have a harder time learning, and sometimes those ppl become rich... odd, but still... so be it.

ill still say i would rather be clueless and have a ton of money then to be so smart and have no money and feel depressed that even with my intelligence im broke as a joke and the dumb guy is living it up... thats how the world rolls man. its an evil truth that the world really does revolve around money. it can make best friends and family turn on each other and it can lead to someone killing another over it. so as much as i dont wanna admit that to be one of the top priorities in life, its almost an obligation... life is ruled by greed and possesion

but back on topic lol

You are correct that money makes the world go round. But we're talking about people.

Geniuses that have no money, if they are really smart will not be depressed, they will know that money isn't everything. Even relatively smart people will not give a sh*t that their dumb neighbor has more money than them and drives a nicer car. Get them into a conversation and who will you be bored with quicker? The friends you get with money are FAKE. If you are happy with fake friends, and are satisfied by numbers more than actual worth then no one can help you. We will all die the same way, but few of us will live a fully satisfying life no matter the possessions we have. Creating something of your own is infinitely more satisfying than buying something that anyone else can with some money. Life is not ruled by greed and possession, people are.

not trying to get into a debate with you.... BUT you pretty much took everything i said which made perfect sense and flipped it all around... what you said would be how things should be in a perfect world... what i said goes on everyday with ppl you brush by in public. and yes LIFE in general is ruled mostly by greed and possession. w/ people and even in the animal kingdom. we buy things we dont need and animal mark trees and fire hydrants as theirs... (cause ya know, they need to claim those as their territory for purpose) lol its how life is man. "some" ppl are fortunate enough to be thankful what they do have, which is mint... but thats such a small percentage. and we are gettin wayyyy off topic lol

lets just agree to dissagree and sum it up and say we all wish we had Steinbruner's money haha
