I've checked everything out. I've even stripped the rear, changed the hatch struts, padded down the hatch with microfiber towels, adjusted the latch, and nothing works. I'm pretty certain it's an issue with the passenger side strut.

I was just curious if anyone has a similar sounding sound too. We have a big thread about it in the Maintenance forum.
