I'll drive, but not in snow.

 

Yes its my daily driver. Thats why I got Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires. But if it gets bad, I will either stay home or get a ride to work. If my Z gets covered in salt, I will wash it right away. I hate winter..

 

The Brickyard Red 350Z will go into semi-hibernation and with a 1.5 mi. commute to work each way the '86 300ZX hardtop will have to stand in as the daily driver.
However, if the weather is dry and there are no remnants of salt on the road the 350Z will come out and play , and maybe the '78 280Z as well (they get pissed if you don't drive them frequently).

 

I drove my Z all through last winter's horrible storm... two bent rims, one lower control arm, one strut, and 2 calls to AAA later, NEVER AGAIN. Thats why I bought an Acura TL.

 

Probably I'll switch back to my stock 18" wheels, which I am shopping for all weather redials; just in case I get caught in light snow.......will mostly be driving my 4x4 Pathfinder in winter

I am curious to see, if there is any noticable increase in power when boosting in cold weather??

I've already noticed an increase in power. It's true. Also, my other cars have been faster in the 1/4mile in this weather.

someone buy me a second car!!!! I have too drive mine through winter, but if it gets like the 28 inches we got last year I'll be working from home if possible, I lost 3 days last winter and that was with a civic!!!

 

Just picked up an old Chevy Blazer for the winter. I'm not chancing another winter driving my baby around considering I've heard that this winter is supposed to be worse than last year.

I will only bring my baby out on sunny days (and then drive the hell out of it). Other than that I will be driving the beast, my 99 Dodge Ram sport.

 

Only on dry and sunny days. I'll use my Pathfinder for the drive to and from work.

 

This will be the first winter for me and Baby Z together! She will get to see the snow -- just get to peek at it, she's not allowed to play in it. I'm very protective of her!

But when it's snowing, and I have used up all my good excuses for missing work, then it will be time for the good old BMW

Another vote for driving through winter I would really like to pick up a beater for the next couple months, but I don't have the bucks for it.
On a good note, if they do call for snow, I can always stay on the ship that I'm stationed at instead of driving home. Go Navy

using all 35 g's worth=). can't afford not to put the z in full use...once i make enough funds to save a car in the garage-it shall be done until then it's "grandma" mode for driving time=)

 

Drove my baby all last winter in Northern NJ. It would not have been possible without snows on all four. Now she behaves a bit.

I'll wait till just after Thanksgiving and then have the snows put back on. They are ready and waiting on the stock rims. Summertime I have chromes wheels that look great.

 

lucky for me that i have a company car, the z will see the cold days but no snow.

 

I'll be driving mine this winter. Just got it 3 weeks ago and don't know how it will do in the snow. Any feedback?

 

Do not drive this car in the snow with the stock tires! They are terrible winter tires. There was a member from Boston (zboy) who could not control his car in the snow even going 15-20 MPH. Suffice it to say he did about 20 grand worth of damage to his car and this was when the car was only out a few months.

Some members have posted using Blizzak tires in the winter and having pretty decent success. You may want to do a search on zboy or winter driving in this forum to read the experiences of other members.

 

Count me in! But not all that often--got the 240SX for that. Also, NO snow 'round here--only rain.
