Default NY Inspection Specifically

Hey guys,
I know this topic has been brought up 100x about test pipes passing inspection but I couldn't seem to find anything about the NYS inspection. Does anyone from NY run test pipes on here? If so, is passing as simple as getting the pipes to not throw a CEL? Or will you not pass regardless? Any help here would be great thanks

It really depends on where you go. Many places will pass you if you do not have a check engine light, but some places do the visual inspection also. Good luck

On long island its a full inspection. Emissions and visual. Your light cant be on and the monitors have to be ready. I have test pipes and I'm also an inspector and even still I have to do it the "right" way. There's no way around it. I used the brillo pad method.

Well best way to get rid of all the headaches is just put the test pipes on the car an get an up-rev tune... That's what I did and I don't have to worry about getting an inspection or worry about any Check Engine lights on my car....

The uprev won't let you pass at a full legit inspection shop, because, as jiggy mentioned, the readiness moniters have to work. Uprev turns the codes off, thus disabling those moniters. So again, it depends where you bring it. If they are doing the full inspection, the way it is supposed to pass, it won't fly

Any familiar with the Mass laws? I installed my hfc and tune right after my initial inspection. My inspection sticker expires feb while the car is still hibernating until March or so.
