North/Central NJ Meet In Secaucus
Been trying to bleed my coolant for a long time
Car will run cool when driving but heat up if I'm at a standstill
I found that I had forgotten to put sealant on the drain bolt
and had a small leak from there.
Let me just say it was a ***** to get to the drain bolt with the turbo in the way.
I bought a new crush washer from the dealer and putting sealant on the threads this time then bleed the coolant.
I was also doing minor adjustment to the suspension and checking other things

but until I don't take care of the leak it will always introduce more air
I got it back in with a new gasket (Crush Washer) and waiting for the sealant to dry up so I can start filling it back up
If you look at that pinkish round flat bolt behind the turbo that is the drain bolt I had to take out and put a new crush washer and put sealant on the threads

Put the Koyo R-core and Mishimoto T-Stat in the HR housing to work

stock ones back on with plugs on the pipes I wasn't using and reintroduced the front crossover tube.
Hal was telling me that if you don't have that front crossover tube the T-stat will never open early enough.
The car actually ran cool when I got on it (lower than middle)
it's when I was at a standstill that it would get hot
I just finished doing the second bleed after letting the car cool down
from the first and the car does not pass 208 at a standstill that is a good sign.
Fans kicked in at 208 and the temp went down to 194
I got some other stuff I want to look into while it is already jacked up
so if you want to pass around tomorrow Ray you are more than welcomed

^ that sucks bro. don't worry there's always next time. what is that anyway? was the crush washer effective in sealing up the leak or is it coming from elsewhere?
and no leaks from the passenger side for now
My eyes are burning I was out there until 3AM
and the car is still on jack stands.
I have to put the under shroud back today
I had originally welded shut all the nipples I wasn't using
on the coolant pipes that are on the side of the motor
but I had to re-introduce the front crossover coolant hose
so I went back to the factory coolant pipes and just put plugs
on the nipples I didn't need. The one that busted is the one on the
bottom of the passenger side coolant pipe that would normally go to the
factory oil cooler which I don't use anymore since I have a aftermarket oil cooler.
I'm trying to source a passenger side coolant pipe so I can get the nipples welded again but leaving the ones I need so if you know anyone who has one for sale or a extra one let me know.
