That sucks. I'm not sure what your options are as I haven't ever been in your exact situation (and I hope to never be) but I was always told in insurance related matters to always fight for more and never accept their first offer for reimbursement. You also need to make sure you get reimbursed for your tires which you should have no problem producing a receipt showing how recently you purchased them.

Im more upset about that little check they gave you. You should try and fight that, and try to get something back for your tires. Goodluck bro

Take the INS money and laugh all the way to the bank!!! Who the f' would be interested in stock Rays wheels?.. They aren't worth crap on the streets. But with the INS money, now you can buy some nice VOLKS! You will still be able to afford tires.

Lots of people posting about Volks + tires and haven't even read the OPs recent posts. His insurance is only giving him $1444 for the wheels/tires!!

OP I agree you should contest the amount with the insurance company... Thats enough money for some good 18s....

but yeah that's sad news...to think people are like that. My friend once posted a picture of two identical mini vans (like two red honda odysseys or something) propped up the exact same way all four tires stolen on both cars...in fact the whole street got hit up...AND it was christmas eve! CRAZY!!!

If thats the case?! He has the worst insurance ever!!!! You have to figure OEM replacement cost per wheel, all four wheel TPMS, mount/balance, lugs and tires.. In most cases an Insurance company will issue their client $5500-7000

My insurance company paid for my damaged Volk!!!! $1100 per wheel..

This is true...but you have to fight with them A LOT. An insurance company even with full coverage will only buy you OEM stuff if that is the only thing available. If there are aftermarket knockoffs or a used set somewhere they will have you get those and most people usually just take the money because they don't know better.

If you have the receipt to the tires bro, you should file that as well because they should give you back some money for those as well. You need to argue more with your insurance.

I know some insurance(actually most) have "custom parts" insurance, and you can add on top of full coverage... Hindsight being 20/20 and all.

If you don't mind me asking, who's your insurance provider?

Yeah you can purchase a custom parts policy. Something I never did. I just recently turned in all my receipts for a stone accident that curbed a wheel and destroyed the new toyo tire. They are aware that these are the rims I run. The car has been photographed with them. The stock Rays Nismo wheels were only a $100 cheaper so not like it's worth arguing. I use State Farm. They have always been good to me. If I wasn't happy, I would take all of my policies else where's.

This is why I want to invent a high voltage lug nut that will deliver a death blow to anybody using a metal breaker bar or tire iron. Or just a lug that explodes sending shrapnel into the crooks face.
