Default Parking issues and Sounder Train stations

This is a bit off-topic but it's therapeutic to blow off steam …

My wife recently drove our Z to work to a new job and parked in a downtown Bellevue parking garage. She said the garage was about 1/3 empty, but someone left a note on her car which read something like “I know there are no assigned spaces in this garage, but I have been parking here for several months and I would appreciate it if you could park in another spot. P.S. Nice car.” I don’t know about you, but I interpret “PS Nice car” as a threat, like if she parked there again they would mess with the Z. It would make me want to move and then see who did park there, and then mess with their car, but I could probably not really get myself to hurt anyone’s car.

I had my own experience while taking the Sounder train. Luckily I was driving my old pick-up that day. I parked East across from the Kent Sounder Train station in front of a roofing company office. I think their name is something like Northwest Roofing. When I returned to my truck after work they had left a really nasty note saying “Hey Jacka##, don’t park in front of our building, and by the way you took up two spots with your truck.” They also keyed the back of the tailgate.

I really didn’t take up two spots, I merely did not pull up all the way to the corner. Also, I grew up in the city of Seattle where anyone can park wherever you can find a spot, and there are no special “reserved” spots on public streets. Well the roofing company has since moved about a block North on Central Avenue, and the city of Kent has since made parking on that street 1 or 2 hour parking. It made me so mad though when it happened … The roofers would always double park their huge F-250 trucks and block the commuters’ cars. When they left the note and keyed my truck I honestly wanted to burn their building down, but those darn morals get in the way !

Ok, I’m done ranting, but I’m also curious, has anyone had any parking confrontations where you feel like the security of your Z is in jeopardy because of where you park?

That is funny you took "PS nice car" as a threat. As I was reading your post I took "PS nice car" as a way of not pissing you off so you don't threaten their car in the future. Just a different way of looking at it I guess.

This is a public parking and you can park wherever you want. If your wife is going back to the same parking maybe she should put a note on the car that will go something like this (that is of course you're not affraid for the car):
"Thank you for taking the time to read this. I appriciate you attachment to a particular parking spot but as you said yourself there are no assigned spots and I see no need to park somewhere else.
PS As you're reading this you're being recorded by a hidden camera! Have a great day."
