Default Go-Karting

A lot of people want to go go-carting so lets keep this thread to keep track of who wants to join the race and when.

I propose to do it after a practice at Boeing because the go-kart place is about 10 min away. Normal price for a race is $15 (at least it used to be) and if you're a member second race is half off - $7.5. If you want to become a member it's $5 + $15 (race) + $7.5(second race) = $27.5 is still better then 2 races as a non-member.

Another popular option (I've done it about 3 times before) is marathon Mondays, which is $50 for 10 races between 7-10 pm ($5 a race). The problem with this option is it's late and probably pretty far for people on the East side. On the positive note - after 10 races I garantee you will have hard time walking because you're gonna be so tired.

More info here: http://www.traxxracing.com/

So lets here who wants to come race and what option you prefer:
1. MadMax76
Option: I would go for any option cause I live not too far away.
Time: After any autoX practice at Boeing (except marathon Mondays of course)

2. Drivesolo
Option: 2 races, maybe more, but 10 races sounds a bit more than I can handle physically and time-wise
Time: On a weekend during the day or a week night after 7PM.

I'm down for either post-autox on Sat. 10/1 or else on a weekday evening (after 7 sounds just fine). With either of these times, I don't think I'd have enough time for 10 races though, so 2-3 or whatever sounds better...

I'd be interested, after the weekend of October 8-9 though (moving).

Ditto on the 2-3 races.

Alright, since drivesolo can't make in on 10/1 and PDX_Racer is moving on 10/8-10/9 we can preliminary set the date to 10/10 after 7 pm.

Does this sound good to everyone? Suggest other date/time if 10/10 is not good.

If anyone else wants to join please feel free. The more of us goes there the better!

Just wanted to check on if we're gonna do this. 10/10 is not good for me, unless it's gonna be much later in the evening.

I'd like to suggest a series race. 1 event at Traxx and 1 event at Sykart. That way it would allow folks that live on the Southend to participate if Traxx is too far of a drive. Input on this idea?

How about Wednesday 10/12 at Traxx?

Sycart also sounds cool but I will need to know far in advance because it's 30+ miles trip for me and since I started commuting to work instead of driving. It might take a while for me to go get my car and drive over. If we agree in advance I will drive that day to work, which will considerably shorten my trip.

LOL! You're not gonna believe this, but Weds the 12th is a bad day for me too unless it's later that night (9-ish). What about Thursday the 13th? Anyone have any conflicts w/ that date?

Thursday, 10/13 should be good for me. I will also bring my brother and possibly a coworker so we should have a lot of people to race against.

So Thursday 10/13 at 8PM at Traxx in Mukilteo? I'm down w/ that. We'll make it a 2 race minimum? If this works out well, we'll need to try a day at Sykart in Tukwila. BA Cutler and I would like that . Winter's coming and I'll probably need to do more go karting to keep me happy until the rain stops.

Should we do a "show of hands" on who's gonna be there? I'll start...

I think 8:30 should be cool. We might be finishing up one race, but you could join us for the next one for the others afterwards.

Also, To all the other Z-faithful in the area that wanna come along and join us; the more the merrier.

I'm thinking MadMax76 will have the home court advantage. The way I under it, we're racing in HIS house, where he's Top Dog. Anyone else have any seat-time at Traxx?

Ok, so I just confirmed several things with Traxx and it looks like they don't have a special for 2 races but they have a new one for 3 races - $39.00 (probably + tax but not sure). If we make a reservation then they will let us race without anyone else joining in. If we just show up then we might race against other people, which is not that bad either. In case we do get to race on our own the traxx will have the first race for us to warm up, second to qualify and third - actual race. They are very flexible on the format as long as everyone agrees to do it of course.
