Hi John,

I should be able to make it. Hopefully my Nismo wheels will be here by then. I should eb able to get them mounted if they come in early next week, but the suspension and side skirts will take a little longer.

Happy New Year!

(Hi Marcy, how's it going?)

I think that will be a good time to see the "gang". I know I will be in the throes of a post-holiday season letdown.

Yesterday I refused to drive my 350Z in the extreme wind conditions and paid the price. My truck ceased to function at the corner of 148th and Bel-Red Road. That is not the best place to create a traffic jam - the Overlake area is crowded enough without my help. Waited 40 minutes in the wind for AAA to arrrive. Fortunately a cop helped get the damn truck off the road.

I'll be there (still 350Z-less) if I'm not snowboarding that day.

I am the out of towner here so you folkes have got to decide where or atleast give some ideas to vote on. Northside, Eastside scenic view, or parking garage inside(dry) or a place to eat lunch and sit around a table and get to know each other?
I am voting for a meeting time of noon or later and not after 4pm.
Somebody mentioned Go-karts?

www.champskarting.com

My recommendation is Champs North, on Bothell-Everett Highway. An alternate could be Champs Eastside in Bellevue on Bel-Red Road.

Very, very good times. And it'd be fun to at least race something, even if it isn't our Z's.

Please, not Champs. Electric carts are lame. If we're going to do karting, I vote for Sykart.

However, karting isn't much of a group event. It's too hectic to really get to talk to each other.

I'd vote for... meet somehwere dry, check out cars for a bit, then head to a brewery for a juicy burger and a cold one

Rock Bottom in Bellevue work would nicely.

I was thinking of starting our meeting in the parking garage at Bel-Square Mall, we could meet there at Noon or 1PM. hang out in the dry and look at mods/wheels and tires and such.
We could be there for 1/2 hour to an hour decide where we want to caravan to then go eat and drink and socialize.

A couple questions:

#1. Where in the parking garage? ( I have no idea only been there once and still would need directions to find the mall)

#2. The social afterwords, is it all age or 21 and over? (bar)

#3. Where would be suggested for the afterwords social, for the people who couldn't make it earlier in the day to Bel-Square Mall?

Anything else people might want to Know? Post Here or
PM me or call and see if I'm home 360-647-5489 (Before 9 PM) leave message or return # if I'm not home

John:

I may or may not be able to attend tomorrow's meeting. I think you should just tell everyone that the meeting's at Bellevue Square Mall, in the parking decks (say 4th Parking Deck). Bellevue Square is off of the NE 8th Street exit off of I-405 in Bellevue, headed West toward Seattle after exiting.

*** The meeting would have to be in the morning (10am) to work for me ***

My real question is: I'm in the middle of designing a custom box to fit into the stock location. Could you help me out with some details, or respond to the following questions:

1. Is your box removable from the space, if you were to take the trim panels off?

2. Do you have the finishing angle for the outer trims, so that I could match the angle with my proposed box design?

3. How did you support the box in the back of the space? I think it has to be bracketed to allow for easy removal.

4. What were the final dimensions of the box that you did, and how did you mount it within the stock space?

If we end up meeting tomorrow, we could talk, and I could share my ideas with you. If not, some help would be greatly appreciated.

My sub box is made out of 14ga. steel cut out with a pattern following plasma cutter that my dad has to make sculpters with.
It was then welded together to the original factory steel plate from the car. I then silicon rubber coated all the seams to make sure they were air tight.
I then wrapped the box inside and out with dynamat.
The original factory plate is held in with the original bolts and just drops in the hole, there is no need to support the back since I believe there is 12 bolts holding the plate to the rest of the car.
I used a factory Bose grill to cover the speaker and it just popped on and there is no buzzing or rattles from any of it.
By the way, the factory grille at full price from my local dealer was $8.26, including taxes. Just unbelievably cheap and clean stock look.
If you can't meet tommorow with us send me a Pm with your number or call my number tonight, I should be up untill at least 11PM 360 647-5489

I guess I'll be around too......although a few more weeks and I'll have my own Z. I'll drive around until I see a Z. I need to take some hatch measurements from someone's Z too, as I need to know what kind of enclosure I can fit under/behind the strut bar.
