Default AutoX 1/22/06 practice

Fun time guys....it was good to get out and test the waters a little.

My best time was 49.12x but I hit a cone..or at least they say. I don't believe them.

Best clean run was a 50. something. I didn't run the afternoon because I had crap to do. Looking forward to the next practice! Starting to get a feel for the car...

Here are some pics I snapped...

Yeah, I had fun on Saturday, but I didn't have any tires that worked on Sunday.

Enjoy the pic of the UY Track model!

You can always check out the Oregon Region Solo II site http://www.oregonregionsolo2.com/ for dates.

And MadMax, the stock tires aren't that bad -- when they're new...

What? No pictures of my bad @ss S14?

Alright, Now that I have a baseline on the S14 to do some tuning, I'll be bringing out the Z for the next practice day.

When's the next practice day? Soon my friends....soon.

So now that you guys have like a year's worth of seat time (assuming the average autoX event at 4 runs) are you gonna start to compete this year? C'mon, PDX_Racer is gonna get lonely running in WWSCC's Stock A class as the only 350Z. Time to go for the glory, practice is fun and all, but eventually you're gonna wanna prove your skills at a real event. I'd join him but... I'll be running in.... Stock D.

Unfortunate for Dr.Volkl, he'll be running the NSX in Super Stock. That means he's gotta beat the Corvette Z06's.

Uuuuuuh no, not really. Stock potenzas are summer tires (I believe you said that yourself at some point on this forum) and are pretty bad in the rain. There were plenty of threads on this forum about people hydroplaning and spinning out of control on stock tires with TCS/VDC on. I also noticed a significant difference when I rode with you in your car on all-weathers and then in my car on potenzas. I might be a bad/inexperienced autoXer but I still doubt that I would be more then 2 seconds behind you on a 50 second course on exact same setup.

Gotta love trash talking. See you at the next practice.

We should plan on having an unoffical 350Z autoX challenge one of these practice days. Winner gets bragging rights for the day. We can use PAX modifiers and 'negotiate' time adjustments. We prep in the AM session and then go at it in the PM session.

We can save the real trash talk'n for then.

Looks like an opportunity just opened up to splash around in the rain again.

Checkout the website for the usual info.

There's a lot of people who are picking a G to win FS this year...

Forced induction will land you in WWSCC's Open Street Class and in SCCA's Street Mod 2. Both classes have pretty much the wildest barely-street legal cars around.

No worries, for your first 3 events you can run Novice class. Mods don't mater there as long ast it's street legal and running on street tires.

Usual time? If so, do I have anyone to vouch for me?

P.S. Gotta go buy myself a helmet, last time wore a stinky helmet .

Sorry to hear that dude. I know what you mean. I don't even like touching the box that we store those things in. You're a braver man than I am to put one of those things on.

I got you on this one. Just be there at the usual time. Come prepared, looks like it'll be a wet one.
