I'm looking to get my car windows tinted and never having it done out here before I don't know what shops are good and which ones to stay away from. Anyone in the Portland area have any suggestions where to go and how much it cost them to get it done?

Doesn't have to be in Portland.. could be Beavertron, or Tigard or surrounding areas.

Honestly, I don't think anyone in town does a great job. Avoid Alexia in Beaverton. They run a school there and guess what the students get to work on? I haven't had 503motoring in Beaverton do a tinting job but I did have them do a clear bra and I am less than satisfied so that doesn't bode well for them IMO. I'd recommend Tommy's Tint on SE 11th (1 block south of belmont.) I had my G done there and my IS done there recently. Not perfect and I'm going back to have the front windows re-done but they're probably the best that I know of and I'm very picky.

Tell him Al with the Black IS350 sent ya. He recently raised his prices to $195 for coupes. I had to pay $235 for the sedan.

 

S2000 PDX had a GB at Alexia's and everyone was very happy with it.

About 1 1/2 years ago I went to Alexia in Beaverton (off SW Canyon) and they did a really good job. I didn't know about the school thing. I paid $175 for 35% all around. They left a razor blade behind but otherwise they did a good job IMO.

 

I ended up settling on a shop that is in Sherwood called "Absolute Window Tinting". The guy who runs the place did a good job. So far I can't see anything wrong with them. I went 35% on the sides in 15 on the back, looks clean and even. It was $195 for the job. I'm pleased with the results.
