Default Car Audio Wiring

Hey fellow members, Do you know anywhere in the south king county area of washington. Do you know a good place to buy Wire for power and ground for an amp install.?

Also if anyone has put an aftermarket amp in there vehicle where did you place it and . how did you ground the amp?

I put my kicker 700.5 amp in the area behind the driver's seat (where the Bose sub would have been). Just ground the amp to the chasis (make sure it's bare metal and doesn't have any paint/coating on it...if it does, scrape it away to reveal bare metal)

you can check the audio/video forum section for lots of ideas.

I bought a Amp wiring install kit from Circuit city...their prices are a little above other places, but when they go on sale, it's usually really good/

I also have my amps behind the driver's seat. If it's a small amp and airflow isn't a problem, you can also put it beneath the compartment behind the passenger seat (the bottom comes out). (I have an mp3 player under there, it has a wired display that is in the cubby where the nav would go.)

I didn't do my install, but it's grounded to the frame somewhere. Knowing how to take apart the interior is a huge, there's lots of little annoyances. You may want to hook up with someone who's done that a few times, it really makes a difference.

Here's a photo of my installed amps.

As for wiring, Ben's Car Audio in Auburn or even Car Toyz probably has what you want.

Also as Peter noted, the Audio/Video forum sections are full of great info, definitely worth your perusal.

I did my own install...I'm not the best, but understand the basics and feel comfortable with wiring and the like. If you need some help, let me know. (I'm super busy until the new year, so sometime after that works better for me)
