I don't know if any of you guys can help me out but here is the story. I bought some stoptech brakes of ebay for 1500.00. Saw pics and everything. It was all 4 wheels. Anyway the guy had perfect feedback and all.....seemed like it was all ligit. I sent him a cashiers check for the brakes.....He said when the check cleared he would send them. I sent check on the 2nd of JAN.So then in the mean time, ebay sends me a e-mail saying that his account has been suspended. so I e-mail him and ask why, and he says someone did buy it now and since he doesn't take paypal they couldn't pay for them so they filed a no recieve item claim on him for 3 items so they suspended his account. Here is some info if anyone can help.

I'd file a small claims action and get a supenea (sp?) for the UPS store to get his real address.

I only knew about the UPS store cause I looked at the address on MSN's live maps page and looked at the aerial photo. I had a delivery sent there once when it was mail boxes,etc and Fedex wouldn't deliver on Sat to my house...

 

ok, that #1933 number is what the difference is......the OP has a number like that he thought was an apt number #C445

 

So C445 is probably the mailbox #. That's good to know for the subpoena since he probably gave them a fake name.

Oh yeah - and go to the bank and if he has cashed the check, ask them to pull the information off it. He probably had to deposit it so you can get the information on his bank from them, and if he somehow managed to cash it somewhere then his DL # is probably on it. They won't give you his bank account #, but every bit of information you can get for a court case is valuable.

 

once you find out his real phone number and address, make sure youp post it publically. we'll send over a few hits...

sorry about your troubles... but for all those reading... on ebay it's paypal or no deal... doesn't matter if it's almost free... If a seller can't go to the trouble of getting paypal, he's suspect in my book...

Your best bet is tracking the check and getting the police on it...
