Eat less food? Buy less clothes? I don't know, I spend my money on basic expenses such as food/shelter/bills, some goes into my car, the rest goes into savings.

There is a difference, for example: unlike me you don't have rent and a car payment. Not everyone have that kind of luxury buddy. Think again, I also have to pay for my own college education expenses like tuition, books, and school supplies. Not to mention cell phone bill, insurance on the Z and the beater.
Uggghhh I'm paying for insurance, cell, college/books. Only thing is car/rent, and I'm moving out in about 2 months. I don't know where u got the idea I'm living bill free . . . . .

You sacrifice food for rims/car parts? You seriously need to get your priorities straight
Status is a high priority for us young people nowadays...
Clearly! Especially the 400rwhp club and nice reeeeems.
Easy BUMP for the OP! GL with the wheel sale, and GOOD CHOICE (IMO). The car is not everything, as you learn as you mature. Some learn faster than others once the real world of rent/mortgage payment, car payment, insurance, etc., hit you. These are the same guys that don't give a thought about retirement money.
Rent or mortgage plus car payment = ~70% of your bills (living expenses)
cell phone, food, party $$/fun = very small% (but I do gots bills, dawg!)
Short-term savings: ~10%
Long-term savings: ~10%
Retirement: ~10%
