Default got keyed...***

So i pulled up into my friends place and noticed some dirt and crap around my gas cover. then as i used some scratch removal cleaning stuff and wiped it off i noticed 4-5 lines running diagonally from bottom left to top right of the cover...WTF i think it was the roudy guys who were hanging out in the alley the night before...I swear im going to found out who it is...Newho does anyone have any recommendations about how to buff it out? the scratches arent down to the metal but i think the clear coat is almost done for. I was thinking about getting some rubbing compound and a buffer and then some wax and stuff to try and fix it but does anyone have a REDLINE gask tank cover for sale? this is just disheartening as i will never park my car there during weekends anymore..

Try rubbing compound first. Next, you can try to wet sand them out with 1500-2000 grit. Got some nasty scratches out of my CF hood wet sanding.

sounds like ya got lucky as hell to only have scratches on your gas lid cover. if it doesn't buff out, you could have it painted for dirt cheap.

Yeah consider yourself lucky bro. When my teg got keyed it was front
fender to rear quarter panel double keyed! Man that was messed up. You can just repaint it or buy a CF one off ebay bro

Sounds like it got scratched from someone or something scraping up against it. That definitely doesn't sound like intentional vandalism...they would have scratched alot more than just the gas cap...

well i got it out pretty good and going to porter buff it soon. im sure it was intentional because the lines are straight streaks spread across 4 lines that look like a key object instead of a button or something. I was blessed to only have that part keyed i know,.
