Default should i pull the trigger?

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=292973
seems decent priced...don't know jack about BBK's, but am ordering my twins this week...figured I need something like this too. 10,000-15,000 miles on the kit, 5000 miles on pads, with quite a few track days in there. Also, in the first pic, is it just me, or is that top right rotor chipped? Anyway, just need some suggestions here. thanks.

Might want to edit that $10-15K = $10,000 - $15,000. K stands for Kilo or 1000.
On a side note, if you do decide to track the car, then thats a steal, but if your going for more show than go maybe look into the stock Brembos from Nissan.

Those look/sound pretty beat up. Can't you get a full front/rear Stoptech setup for like $3500? Haven't done too much research since I'm pretty satisfied w/the stock Brembos.

DO IT! sounds like a good deal, powder coat them before you put them on, Silver calipers are nice

they look pretty hammered to me, I think i'm gonna shy away from this deal. Got a lot of PM's from other people saying that they are way too beat up, and it would cost a lot to get them back up to where they needed to be. I think I'm just gonna go with the racing brake set-up instead. About the same price, but brand new. www.racingbrake.com But on a positive note, I should be getting my turbo's in about 2 weeks

I agree, those definetly have some track abuse on them. Factor in the cost of a rebuild and repowdercoating, and its not such a great deal

If you're not tracking your Z, IMO most brake kits will work without a problem - even with spirited driving...the main reason ppl get BBK is to prevent brake fade, which occurs from heavy braking (I'd be surprised if you could push the Z that hard on the street). Also remeber, if you're not using this on the track, it'll probably result in longer braking distances (more mass, and could take longer to get up to operating temp depending on the type of pads), and slower acceleration times (might be neglible, but increase in rotational mass will slow you down).

For autoX, it's generally considered better to not go with the Brembo's...brake fade is a non-issue.

thanks for the replies, and peter, what would you recommend since you race your car? I plan on tracking this car next season. Thanks

what type of tracking events do you plan on doing? Are you doing any kind of time trails, or just lapping/HPDE stuff? I ask b/c if you're competing, many times a BBK will put you into a different class.

I haven't really kept up with what ppl are running for BBK's anymore...I just run a semi-matallic pad w/ OE rotors for track events b/c I can't goto a BBK for the autoX class I run.

names that come to mind: stop-tech, Brembo, AP Racing, Willwood,...be careful about off-brand BBK's - they'll be cheaper, but might not endure the heat of actual track temps (they're often more for Show)

Other nice, but pricey, ones include: Greddy GREX, Impul, Rotora, Project Mu, etc...

Despite some of the reviews on here, I would stay away from stuff like Megan, D2, and junk like that...
