what he didn't tell you is that he has backed up nto a suburban since then, also put his car into a guard rail, also got hit in a parkinglot. He needs a new front bumper, rear bumper, front passenger quarter panel, rear passenger quarter panel, passenger side sideskirt, new passenger door, and I can't remember if it was just 1 or 2 new wheels that he needs too. LOL

p.s. that's what you get for making fun of my hobby (drag racing)

p.s.s. I still want my movies and tie back!

It was my friend's girlfriend that backed up into me you tool.

Wheels are gonna be refinished, it's just some scratches.

You should've bought a Corvette for drag racing.

there are a lot better cars for drag racing than vette's...my personal favorite is a fox body mustang gt hatch with the 5.0 preferably a 89 since that is the first year of the mass air flow sensor. Cheap to build, easy to fix, and excellent power response with mods. Also, I don't like to only drag race, it's just what I am learning at teh moment. When I feel very comfortable with drag racing, I will get more into taking corners. In my oppinion, you need to learn how to drive in a straight line first, before you try to deviate from it. Have heard the opposite though too...

And backing into the surburban was a consequence of having to park everyday right?

If you really like the twisties, then get a bike! But judging by what I'm hearing, that would be a fatal decision, so nevermind.

Plus cars can go through the twisties faster . . . . well depends on the car.

I was seriously considering selling my car and buying an EVO, but all my friends have them. Plus I've already put too much $$$ into my Z to change plans now.

She backed into you? How did that damage everything on you front/rear/passenger side? (both wheels, both quarter panels, front/rear bumpers)

Maybe forgo spending money on additional mods, and spend some time/money on a trackday...

....or a defensive driving course! hahaaaa

AutoX - AutoX - AutoX ...it's cheap and will teach great car control. The speeds might be a bit lower than some fast mountain roads, but it will help out in large amounts.

Also, if you're doing 10/10ths on the streets, you're going to have mishaps...just hope when you have those times, that no one else is on the road with you.

Is there any chance of damaging your car in AutoX? I pretty protective of my car so I'm weary of anything that might scratch or chip the paint.

Nah I hit the guardrail while taking a blind corner on a road I didn't know that well. My own fault but what can you do.

Half the fun with back roads is the potential for danger; that's where the thrill lies. You can't make mistakes. I made one and I'll man up to it, get the car fixed, and start driving again.

But I will hit up an AutoX event just to see what it's like though. Nothing wrong with that.

Just buy a lot of 3M Painters Tape, and give your car a DIY Blue Bra!

LOL. Sounds crazy but it'd work! Heck, if it were possible, I'd have clearbra put all over my car...even on the windows.

AutoX is one of the safest auto sports...it's a really low likleyhood of hitting a light pole or curb (usually only happens if the driver is way too out of control). Cone marks and small rock chips do happen - like already stated, some use the blue painters tape and cover all the
key areas (front bumper, side panels/doors...)

if you're looking for thrills, then I agree that street racing and stuff like that can make your heart jump out of your chest...but if you're wanting to really compare who's a better driver, autoX is a great place to do it.
