Anyone in the Lakewood, Washington area?
Anyone in the Lakewood, Washington area? What is the area like? My friends want me to move up there with them so I can get my life back on track and get away from the trouble I'v been getting into with the local cops having it out for me and the enemies I'v made. A couple of my friends are in the Army and are getting sent up there and a few are going up with them and already have a house they are flying up to sign papers on. Is the area a nice area to live? ie small town or is it a big city? How's the car scene around there and how is the crime rate? I'm thinking with all the **** I'v been through the last couple years this would be the best thing for me to do.
You mentioned army buddies, so I'm guessing you are referring to the Lakewood by Fort Lewis next to Tacoma, not the Lakewood Community north of Seattle.
Lakewood is a mixture of sort of low-rent areas mixed in with very nice neighborhoods of big buck homes on several irregular-shaped lakes. You can go from nice areas to bad areas in just a few blocks. Streets are laid out very irregularly partly due to the lakes and to Fort Lewis. There is a very high percent of military and retired military living there. It is one of the least homogeneous areas I know of and I worked real estate in that area for years.
You can get into trouble any place you go. If you are looking for gangs, you will be able to find some there. If you are looking for peace, you can find it there. The only thing that physically separates Lakewood from Tacoma is a city limits sign on several urban roads.

Mixturepinoy has the right idea. The more rural you go, the more peace you will find.

Thanks for the info. Kinda makes me weary of movin up there, though really anymore I know I'm gonna find trouble everywhere I go. Hell this little *** town of Springfield, Mo is having tons of drive-bys now. Retards... My GF heard that I was 'considering' moving before I talked to her and man that wasn't pretty last night. lol
