Smile New to the Nissan World.

Hi guys. was referred here by a buddy.

i am coming from a 2006 STI it was pretty quick. well over 500whp, trapped 128mph with the smaller turbo.

it was stolen on July 20th.

but i think i did pretty well finding a replacement daily driver.

i picked it up in june. already got some tunes installed, ARC goodness, and Ohlins will be here soon. PLans for the car are to try and keep it simple. my power goals are 450-480WHP with a nice power band. Ohlins will help it handle like it is on rails, and i am planning on getting some 18x10 with 285`s here soon.

Dave, what are you doing with a Mine's tuned ECU? your motor wont be happy for long with that guy on pump gas... Get on the FreshAlloy GT-R board, grab an AEM, and let me have at it .

i can only go off what the seller told me as far as the ECU goes.

I am planning on doing som epower mods in the future. for what i want to do i dont know if a standalone is the right path.

Its the only path. Even if you want to leave the car stock, any 'drop in' ECU you get is going to be setup for Japanese pump gas. There are lots of differences in the fuels, and you can't run the ignition timing on US swill that you can on the Mines ecu. Another worrisome issue is on the Mine's ECU specifically the knock offset maps have ignition values that are identical to the base tables, meaning under knock the ECU does nothing to help out.

Another thing to consider is after I tuned Marc's GT-R with the Power FC/datalogit setup, Z32 MAF's and 720cc injectors, his gas mileage went up considerably, and the car drives alot more nicely because it now has the ign timing it wants under low loads.

I've spent the last 1.5yrs learning everything I can about the GT-R and RB, I have interesting technical discussions with some of the most knowledgable people in North America over on the GT-R board. Sometimes i read and learn, othertimes I get involved. XSDAILO is Eric Hsu from XS Engineering, Apexi, Cosworth. tyndago is Sean Morris, ex Motorex, RB motoring, worked on the Automotive Forums R34 race car.

if you haven't gone there yet, great website for info is Sean's site http://tyndago.googlepages.com/

you can PM me or email any time... i learned all this crap so i can share w/others
samhi.si@gmail.com.

Nice ride!

Are STI's and Evo's easy to steal? I wasn't aware that they were stolen that often...
