Possible relo to Portland
So it looks like I may be relocated to the Portland area with my company. I was wondering if anyone can help me out with good areas/ areas to watch out for when choosing a house/townhouse/condo.
Thanks
Thanks
Vancouver is pretty nice. Its on the WA side of the river. I have a few friends that live down there. It's pretty nice. I am not exactly sure on the housing prices as I live a bit more north of there.

I think everyone just likes saying the word "Tito".
Edit: First off, a big friggin +1 for Portland strip clubs. Second, their gun laws are pretty much the opposite of the draconian Washington laws. Want a suppressor? got the $200 BATF tax? No problemo! Tom Bowers (www.subguns.com) is based in Cornelius, about 40 minutes from Portland.

-1 on Vancouver. Especially if you work in Oregon (OR income tax + WA sales tax FTMFL). House prices are cheaper in Vancouver and your neighbors will reflect that. West Portland (Beaverton/Lake Oswego) is nice but crowded. East Portland (Gresham) is mostly low income. Clackamas is growing (SE Portland) and nicer the further east you get. It all depends on how much you have to spend and what you're willing to put up with.

Went to college in portland. What a great town. The whole city was pretty cheap compared to seattle. I lived in southwest by lake oswego which was OK, but really i'd want something closer to the city. I think a lot of it kind of depends on what type of person you are.
