How do Volks handle the weather?
I will be buying a set of Volks real soon, and am curious to how they will hold up to the elements. I garage my car from mid Nov to mid march and only drive it on dry days, which is rare. Outside of that time frame I drive it most of the time and park my car outside. I've heard all the horror stories of people jacking up the polish on their lips, but it sounds like it is mostly an issue with puting chemicals on it they shouldn't have. Some input will be much appreciated.
my sister has some ce28's that have been through all weather conditions known to man, and they still good, do discoloration or anything
cant really say much about the polished lips though, the ce28's are all bronze without polished anything

if you get ones with polished lips you have to take very good care of them..they're clear anodized so if you get even a minor scratch on them you're ****ed......DO NOT use any kind of wheel cleaner on them, just warm soap and water and a microfiber cloth
I've had my Volk sf challenge for almost two years and they still look good. Like above, don't use any chemicals to clean. Just use soap and water. I drive my car almost everyday and still really shiny when I wash them. My only advice is "Watch out for curbs!!" Take wide turns.....

The biggest enemy you have no control over is the salt/sand/chemicals they spread over the roads in Winter. Otherwise like most have already said.. use soap and water. Dishwashing liquid will cut through most grease.
A friend swears by "WheelWax" --he applies in late fall and again in early spring and his wheels alway look brand new. Mostly he just has to rinse off during winter as the wax protects the finish and prevents most dirt buildup.

I don't drive it much in the winter, only on dry days, so I am not worried about de-icer chemicals. To my knowledge salt is not used here. I expect to get knicks and scratches over time from normal wear and tear. Thanks for the responses people, I just dropped some coin on a set of new Volk GTFs MDC gunmetal through a local dealer.
