My friend went a couple weeks ago without anything besides his id. I'm down to go if enough peeps go. I'll just spend the weekend up there and kick it with my friends in Van.

You can still get through w/ a birth certificate I believe. I take my passport anyway, because it's easier.

I drive to Canada 25-30 times annually. You can use your drivers license, birth certificate, or Costco Card if you want. But to be safe (and hassle-free) you should have a non-expired passport.

Just speaking from personal experience.

I went up there about three weeks ago, I had my passport of course. It makes crossing the boader quick and easy.

january 31st, 2008 is when all crossing citizens will be required to have 2 forms of ID when crossing the border. I don't know how you got through but I've seen a car full of marines sent back because all they had was their government ID and nothing else. Maybe you got lucky? but meh i dunno
