peter, keep me posted on autox's as well... as long as they're not on a sunday... thanks
I'm doing the SCCA series this yr... www.nwr-scca.org/solo
they're almost always on Sundays - FTL.
**Warmmilk - you may like the ProSolo series...at this point, it's only 3 events, but it starts w/ a drag race start (Christmas tree) and after the first 50-100 feet, it turns into an AutoX...2 cars start off together, the their respective courses are mirror images of each other. First ProSolo is in 2 weeks down in Packwood.

. the last time i went sideways couple of times, and i noticed my tires are getting eaten up on the outer side. so i suppose, more camber + lots of cornerring will kinda make them little bit more even tire wear

some neg camber may help but if you do that I'd suggest returning to stock specs when you're not on the track or you'll eat your tires. Do you have adjustable a arms, like SPC or something?

It's a bit of a haul, but a group I've run with before, TEAM Racing, is doing an event out at Reno-Fernley, if you want to get on a big-boy track. (= It's a fun track, 4.1 miles (though I haven't run on the extended part), about 30 minutes east of Reno. I've been there twice, and I stayed the night in Reno and made a weekend of it.
They're very newbie friendly, they'll pair you up with an instructor to ride along with you for a few sessions. No stupid 8 hour classes or anything like some clubs; they treat everyone the same (other than the passing rules in your run group).
More info here: http://home.onemain.com/~bonster/schedule.html
Track info: http://www.reno-fernleyraceway.com/
Bonus: if you get bored of driving (LOL), they have a shooting range. (=
