Shakotan Matsuri (Japanese Lowered Car Festival)
This is an event that is happening where I live in Boise ID. It is an event featuring a show with the best Japanese cars from all over the surrounding area/states. It will also feature one of the area's best DJ's and a 3v3 break dance competition with a cash prize. Here is the flyer for the event. You don't want to miss it! If you have any question you can reach the event committee at shakotan.info@gmail.com
Thanks for looking! We are proud to present Shakotan Matsuri '08 (Shok-o-tan Mawt-soo-ree) which means "Lowered car Festival" in Japanese. Shakotan will also have the look and feel of the Japanese culture. Our goal in creating this event is to go outside the typical local and even national "car show" realm by bringing new exciting elements, sponsors, and ideas to Boise. Our passion as committee members has always been not just Japanese cars, but the approach, honor, and commitment the Japanese take when building a car in whatever style they may choose for whatever purpose. We are enthusiasts and felt that showcasing the many styles associated with Japanese culture like Drifting, VIP, Circuit, Gymkhana (AutoX), Rally and Drag is a good way for other enthusiasts to come together and share their passions in the form of their cars. We want to display everything from the ultra clean VIP car, down to the everyday purpose built drift car that has been well used to drift.
We hope to see you there!

Yeah it would be cool to see people drive out for the show, but it's understandable why you wouldn't want to. It is a long drive. Quite a few people are coming up from Utah though, which will be cool. A second R32 has committed as well!

BTW, if anyone is serious about coming down for the show, we can probably help with getting safe places for your cars, and maybe even a spot in the garage.
Also, I can most likely provide a couple couches and some floor space if needed, to help lower the cost of the trip.
Anyone interested can PM me and we can discuss details and options.

If you guys come, you should definitely show your cars! No reason to hide all these hot Zs from the Boise public!
You're all more than welcome to come out Friday night instead of Sat morning. That might slow the pace and make the trip a little more enjoyable, but whatever you're able to swing is cool by me.
Just keep me posted as to who's coming and who needs a place to stay. We've got 2 couches and a couple of surprisingly comfy floor mats, as well as plenty of floor space. What we don't have is a bunch of spare blankets, so you might have to throw a sleeping bag or blanket in with you.
