It is, but not that bad. I've done it many times as a passenger, or driving in the Winter in an SUV. That was pretty boring, except the time I borrowed a friend's supercharged 4Runner. Drove the G out there over Labor Day weekend, loaded full of passengers and gear. That was pretty fun.
Oh, and for the uninitiated, Joe's Sports is now closed, but the building and parking lot are still there. It's right behind Nissan of the Eastside. Here's the former address:

Okay got word there is a Huskies game going on on Saturday. And from what I heard traffic is a *****.
Pat do we have to go through UW to get to the park. I need you to look into the best route for us not going through the traffic.

the game starts at 7pm. i'm sure traffic would be fine around 2pm

Yes, traffic is atrocious when there's a game. However, as Vince said, we'll be heading out there 5hrs prior. Should be fine. We'll just take the easiest/shortest route as usual, which means 520 E to the Montlake exit.
