The worst part is, if you are rich enough to own those cars; you are rich enough not to care crashing it up and buy yourself a new one.
Except that they're not all exactly instantly replaceable. If I'm rich enough to have a 250 GTO in my stable, I don't care who crashes theirs, they're not getting mine for ANY amount of money.

You sure about that?
So if you spend $20M on a car, that automatically means you have another $20M lying around to replace it? So, do you have enough money to replace your Z / G if it wasn't insured right now?

+1. Strange assumptions people have about the rich.
Apparently, ppl have a hard time understanding that it's just a car. What is the point of having something you don't use for what it was made to do. If they can afford to buy an expensive car, i'm sure they are insured and will get the money back. Will they get the car back, nope. But who cares, just go buy another high end car.
Why do you think these manufacturers build these cars. It's for cornering and high speeds. Owning these cars and not driving it for what they are made for, is like having a hot girlfriend/wife and doing nothing more than walking around in the sunshine together and going home to sleep in different rooms.

I think of it this way, if you had $30M, you wouldn't really spend $20M on a car; if it was a $2M car and you had $30, sure. Most of these cars I'm pretty sure (if bought at auction) must be paid up front.
If they really didn't have the cash to buy another $2M car, I would imagine them driving a $300K car.
But those are just my thoughts.
