Car getting a lot of attention?
whenever my friend rides with me he always say people are looking at my car, but i've never noticed. one time a bum said i have a nice car. anything under $40k is not a nice car imo. i see $100k cars on a daily basis. downtown bellevue has tainted me
I rather have a tricked out < $100k car than most of the stock $100k+ cars. There are so many of those super cars in this city, everyone and their mother has a ferrari... or maybe I've been hanging over at Park Place too much....
Just came up 8th on the way to the office, and there was some Asian tour group or some such taking pictures of buildings, and they all immediately started taking pics of my car. It was kinda funny to see, actually.
I get some attention also, although all I have right now is a drop. Its really awkward when randoms start up conversation while I'm getting gas...I'd give everyone here that had significant exterior mods props if I saw them around also.
so would everybody that cant afford a $100k+ car...
Manual is a lot more fun. I do still miss the 5AT sometimes, it's nice when we take Michelle's G35 out because it's good for going through downtown Seattle
It's interesting though, I had to stop myself from trying to gearreach for the shifter to change or trying to find the clutch when I brake Actually no, not a lot of people cared but most have a surprised reaction when I told them. It's an issue that I don't have to worry about any more fortunately

Hahaha!
I do think driving a manual takes a lot of good hand/feet coordination (which comes smoother and faster with time) but that's most likely why a lot of people don't know or want to drive manual. The best advantage to having a manual, though, is being a lot more attentive to the roads.

i don't know about everybody else, but i like going up the seattle hills in any manual car, especially when its wet. its awesome when you have someone in the car with you, cause they cringe / lean forward / etc. when you're about to go cause they expect you to roll back like 7 ft. then when i just go, i get weirdest looks like "holy ****, i cant believe you just did that".
and for those of you that cant do it, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves, even my sister can go up a seattle hill from a stop with minimal roll back (0-3 inches)

and by being able to do this I don't mean by using the e-brake either (which is what Drew taught me at first). I used the e-brake maybe 3 times and then ditched that technique after being able to control the clutch better. And I started doing this not even a week after ever owning a manual car so it's not all that hard.
You banned yet?
But back to the point, if your car is clean I'm sure you will turn heads.
As for the ppl who think if you can afford a car over $100K, you wouldn't bother with a car that is worth less than $100K. I think there are exceptions to that rule, two locals who are both worth multiple billions I believe have a 1990s 911 (Bill Gates), and a Land Rover SUV (I believe that is what he has, if not that it is some American brand car from Detroit) (Steve Ballmer).
