KarMart Nissan
So I've heard a few things "not so good" about KarMart Nissan and I would like to add to this.
I bought an 06 in late 07 and it had about 2000 miles on it. The previous owner had this dealership put in a Stillen short shifter. But after putting on about 2000 miles the guy trades his car in for a Corvette, from what I understand.
So here's the problem:
I was having a little problem engaging into 5th, 6th and reverse. It would be worse in higher rpm, so I waited to see how bad it would get. Well, it became worse and couldn't engage in reverse at all. I thought it was the tranny. I took my car to Campbell Nissan and the tech took apart the console and stuck his finger down at the bottom of the shifter and found that it had no bushings.
Called the Service Manager "Dane" at Karmart and he was no help. He just told me it has been too long and that Stillen may not have sent the bushings. Yet his mechanics installed it anyway. He also said I wasn't the original owner and he wasn't going to do anything about it.
Here's the thing. The tech at Campbell figured it out by feeling around with his finger and the tech at Karmart installed it without bushings. I had the shifter taken out and installed a new one. I have the old one and just looking at it, being that I'm no professional mechanic, can see that it needed bushings. I have installed short shifters in my other cars in the past and never had a problem and a so called "professional mechanic" was dumb enough to install it without a critical part.
Well there you go, another dumbazz mechanic and a dealership that won't take the blame for there stupidity. Just a note, there are some great mechanics out there, just not at Karmart.
