I don't think it was stopped at noon. Myself and a few others rolled out after that, and it was still in full force. Officers just rolled through a few times to make sure people were parking in a way where the lots were completely blocked off, and also were posted around to make sure people weren't acting recklessly. They seemed pretty reasonable, overall.

Snow / Ice and I was late to Auburn (7:20) but made it to Bellevue at 7:50 only to find coffee cups on the ground and rain shadows were cars used to be. Thought you guys were leaving "Joes" at 8:00?
Figured I knew where GG was but ended up in Discovery Park.......called it a day and took the Busa out instead.

First off, once again thanks to all you Z33 guys that show up sooo big to the meets.
The reason the police were there is because the lazy canadians that run nwn didn't have any american workers to get things done for them. The City of Seattle told them well in advance to get a permit and even told them about the wedding going on at the same date and time. Despite this they did nothing and just showed up and stood around.
If you are wondering about the planned activities, in essence they all happened.
1. The BBQ that did happen was great but it just happened to be run by the people (myself included) from rightwheeldrive.com so it was nowhere big enough for the 600 or so cars full of people NWN promised food to.
2. The food that did happen was some pizza's they ordered later in the day and then just stood there and ate.
3. Raffle, they handed out a couple t shirts.
4. Eating contest, eyewitness reports confirm quite the eating contest among the canadians standing around the pile of pizzas they bought for themselves with other peoples money.
Anyway, like i said considering the complete lack of effort from nwn as reported by the police saying "YOU HAVE TO MOVE BECAUSE THE PEOPLE ORGANIZING THIS DID A BAD JOB) this year, the actual people part of the meet went pretty well. As always my350z deserves part of the credit.
Look forward to some kickass events from rightwheeldrive.com this summer as all the people who made the old GG meets so good (myself included) are all there.

Demitri -
Was it even organized at all? I never saw an "official" GG thread on NWN. There were all the caravan threads, and it's generally understood that GG is the last Sunday of March. The only "official" thing I remember seeing was the signup thread. Never saw anything about raffles like in previous years, vendors, etc.
It was more like about 600 people showed up to a place out of habit and not so much because there was an actual event.

I'm wildly confident that Dennis and Colin aren't the only two people that won't be there next year. I know that Lev mentioned not bothering, and I know that I won't bother unless there are some serious changes in the organization.
I sway a little differently on the old-n-busted aspect, as long as it's that way for a reason. As has been said before, love what's yours. But, keep similar things grouped together. If all of the torn up drift cars are in the same area, awesome, and I'll definitely go check them out. And group by make as well. It's having to wade through everything that the real diamonds get missed.
Overall, Golden Gardens is like communism and women. The idea works great on paper, but in practice, it's just a big pain in the ***.

I would much rather go to a cars and coffee with exotics, something that gets me hot under the collar ...
I would say that in total there were maybe 4-5 cars that made me look when coming into the park, and yes, I did bring my camera, I walked the park length to length and then proceeded to put the camera back in my trunk ...
Sigh. I doubt I'll be going next year ...

I was just telling Jackie the same thing about the Cars and Coffee in Tukwila.
Those cars tickle my ********* more than anything at GG.

pacfwu you are coming off like a serious dick over there. it's all cars and it's all love at GG. Everyone should feel welcome at GG. There is no way to assign parking to attain the caste system you desire.
All the years I have run that meet (not this year) I have gone out of my way to invite, value and recognize the participation of the my350z community. Please don't ruin it with elitist and snide comments.
Lastly anyone who runs 15k rims on the street is living and living good.
