Default Decisions decisions

I'm going price out the FI setup on my car hopefully this upcoming week, it is my birthday and all on Sunday. So far I think i'm going with the GTM kit for 500 whp. I'm going to need an exhaust, new clutch, and guages I suppose.
Or, if everything ends up being a little too steep at the moment, I might just go for a good NA setup. I'm thinking an Amuse exhaust with HFCs, dual intake setup and a good tune and try to get 300 whp. Maybe a new wheel and interior stuff. Hell maybe even get new seats.

For the FI guys am I missing anything? I know the turn key GTM kit comes with just about everything. However i'm still going to need the exhaust and clutch, theres only so much the stock unit can take. Plus the guages. I cant think of anything else.

A NA setup wouldn't be bad at all with the HR motor though.

Really...it's what you want...I know for a fact you don't want 500whp, you'd kill yourself...I mean do you have money ready for either path...if so, stay NA...that's just me

if you ever plan on going FI, then trying to build a NA motor would be a waste of time and $. if you're worried about spending too much all at once, there are a few options you have with the GTM kit. you can always get it and run low boost. that would allow you to upgrade exhaust, clutch, brakes etc. at your convenience and still enjoy a little extra power. not sure if you're interested or not, but a third option is to search the here and on driver for a used supercharger kit. iv'e seen them go for a couple thousand and you could probably sell it in a year for almost what you'd pay for it. i'm sure no matter what route you choose, you'll be pleased. just make sure you do plenty of research before pulling the trigger.

U are gonna need more stuff than u think to get 300whp. The list u have made will bring u close to that number. However, FI will be really steep, drivsbility bad, and u don't need 500whp on daily basis. I think doing all the bolt ons that the HR has available is the smartest thing to do! U will like!

300whp is weaksauce. save up and at least try to get 350-380. i think anything beyond 400whp is over doing it. especially in seattle weather and rwd. good luck, EN-GUY-EN!

either way... your car is still sweet... but def thing in terms of driveability... you already know what its like to be slammed and avoid every bump possible... just imagine worrying about alot more (is the z your daily? or do you have a second car?)... im almost at the same point... and i am really debating on weather or not i just want to go out and get a bike again....

I would do the FI route since its not your daily driver. I don't know how much you care about 500whp though since it doesn't seem that that kind of power really interrests you that much unless its in an exotic type car. I'm too lazy to go look at whats in teh gtm kit to tell you what else you would need. A good NA vehicle is badass too if its done right. No lag can be fun.

Not sure how you feel about the GTM kit but what about other kits that are a bit less pricy? Eirther way, FI is always more expensive because of guages [good gauge setup = $800-$1000] and then there is always the maintenance cost, transportation cost to GTM. If you can get around 330-350 going NA then I highly suggest that. The power will be more geared towards around town driving. With 500whp you definitely shouldn't be driving it daily

Oh Happy Birthday buddy!

Lev has an HR. 500whp on the HR is like 400whp on a DE. It is reliable and safe.

Lev, i am sitting on 297whp/261wtq. If you wanna take my car for a spin feel free to ask me. It will give you an idea where you can stand N/A with bolt-ons (considering the fact that a full bolt on HR can get to 320whp).
