Those headlight's are a lot different from ours tho. As you can see he doesn't have any reflectors surrounding the projectors like the 03-05 350z headlights do. He'll still have more output then OP does, because OP actually decided to paint the reflectors in the housings, plus the vette has the orange sidemarker. I don't think cops will care THAT much about painted housings, but smoked lights I think is a different story.

p.s. Scott! You are correct, how do those vette boys always get away with that **** you ask? Most Vette owners are cops/firemen/City employees! Yeah I said it LOL..

p.s.s. Fernando, forgot to say looks good man!
Its not safe at all to put it inside.
its true about vette owners are cops/firemen/City employees!
Glad you like my ride.

P.s. i bring in cash home too. its just that my wife brings more dont want to sound like without her i would be homeless. or maybe i would?

just to start out i was drunk when i wrote that last night about the front plate. Also if i dont have a plate then the first cop that sees me will pull me over. I do ILLEGAL thinks on the road but i dont burnout in front of a cop right? i would hope i was not that stupid. what i am trying to say is that having your plate in your windshield is like running a red light in front of a cop. your going to get pulled over.

'06+ have no reflectors in the headlights either, and also have orange sidemarkers.

I really don't see a difference between the OEM blacked out (well, body color) headlight housing vs. what OP or I have done. There's still no housing reflector either way.

Unless I'm missing something.

Bingo.
The 03-05 headlights(What the OP has) use a hybrid projector/reflector design. Some of the light escapes from the open sides of the projector, and utilize the reflector to provide width to the beam pattern. By painting it black, the light output will be significantly diminished, especially towards the sides. He also painted the reflectors for his highbeams, which don't utilize a projector at all, so they are pretty much worthless. Those headlights are a fail.

What redlude said. The 03-05 headlight housings the low beam and high beam are pretty dependent on the reflectors. Not so much w/ the low beans hence it's a hybrid of projected/reflected light like redlude said, but yeah light output will deff. be down if it's painted. I'm pretty sure those high beams are completely useless now.

On the 06+ headlights were are the high beams at? in the projectors?

I don't even know what that says. But I highly doubt that it deserves anywhere near it.

i believe it has something to do with it being illegal to color match our headlight vs. corvettes coming with color matched headlights stock.
