Default Another alarm installation thread

So, with Pete disappearing off planet earth and not wanting to get screwed on shop pricing, do you guys know anyone who works for a shop that wants to make some extra money on the side? I'm looking at a Viper 5902 Alarm with about 5 add-on sensors/accessories.

Also a good idea... then you can see the guy trying to break your window... and laugh, then club him in the face.

intec installed the 5901 for me, works perfectly, haven't had a single issue yet. had it for a few months now. cost me 725 installed with remote start, window roll down (automatically roll up when you arm the alarm), trunk pop, and he through in the gas door pop.

Do you know what his installation cost is? I'm grabbing the top of the line stuff online for much cheaper...example: $799 Viper 5902 at car toys bought for $349 on amazon...duh! I got all the extra sensors and bells and whistles for another $120. I think if they can get installation for roughly $200 for the alarm + all the accessories would be nice.

I don't foresee a shop that charges 80-120$ an hour taking on a job that could take them 4-6 hours for 200$.

DEI has been really cracking down on alarms sold on the net. They won't warranty them if you have a problem. Most shops will give you a better deal installed with the alarm and then you have a full warranty.

Call Les at VTR in Everett. Uber clean installs.

+1 on VTR Alvin, they will take care of you way better than the other shops , plus they are closer and easier to get to vs. going down south.

Scott found Pete?! NICE!!! Hook things up!!! I might have some help from Brian (Poorg35) on install - his buddy might be able to do it and is a certified master tech. VTR is nice but they quoted me $550 and tax.... I can't afford that.

well he charged me 300 or 325 for the alarm (don't remember which one), so i guess the install was 400-425. but he may charge a bit more if you bring your own stuff since he's not making a profit on the alarm. I also had him install my pioneer z110bt (worlds better than the f700bt btw) so maybe that played into the price a bit. best bet would be to stop by and talk to lawrence. i find shops take you a bit more seriously and give you a better price when you go talk to them in person than on the phone or email...
