PGP Lap Attack Series
It looks like Pacific Grand Prix has taken the next step and is now offering a competitive Time Attack series.

Has anyone been considering this? I wrote an e-mail to them asking questions since the RWD class, which would be absolutely pointless if they allow non-street legal Formula car (Ford, 500, FSAE, etc.).

I didn't stick around to see all of the event. There where several people you would know from auto-x. Kevin Dietz entered cars in RWD, FWD and AWD. He had his Z06 for RWD but there was an Ariel that would be hard to beat and a full race widebody M3. Also Dieter Beldi was there with his Speed 3 and Mike Duncan with his RX8. They had to turn people away, much bigger turn out then they had expected. I think I might turn out for one in the future but want to do a couple of lapping days out there first to get to know the track.

Thanks for the info.
I bet a lot of autoX-ers showed. It's the next natural progression beyond autoX and something that the road racing guys can get into too. LOL... I can't believe Kevin entered a car in all 3 classes. I saw his post on the NW forum asking for an AWD loaner, I had no idea he was attempting a hat-trick. Mike's RX-8 was fast his first time out when we went back in Feb. I can only imagine how much faster it is now and w/ R-comps if he's been focusing on this.
I e-mailed Paul earlier this week and he said that for this first event they will just group everyone into one of the 3 "drive-based" classes. But he's certain the next one will have classes broken down by more specific levels of tunning. It will never be like the SCCA or WW classing, but I'm sure that there will be at least 2 classes for RWD. I'm sticking to staying w/in BSP limits so I'm hoping that's where the line is drawn for the upper limit of the lowest end RWD class.
